Funny you'd mention 1948. That happens to be the year meeeechegan won their last outright Natty in football. Only 1/2 a Natty in the last 69 years for them.:pound:

HEY EVERYBODY, THE LAST TIME THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINES WON THAT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WAS 1948 ... I LEARNED ABOUT THIS ON A BASEBALL FORUM.

Funny. Oddly enough when Yer Boy doug (who you're always defending) talks about Harbaugh in this thread you don't say anything. Hypocrite.

Oh, I know that one. 1948 was the last unshared championship Michigan football won! Surprised you'd bring that up, though.

And here I thought it was in reference to Michigan's last outright title in football.

Maybe about what you were referencing, but not about the year. 1948 was the last outright football title UofM won. Fucking losers.

Maybe we can start talking about the Cleveland Indians having the best team in the division.

The Tigers not doing anything and having not centerfielder (at nausea)

The Chicago White Sox building (smartly) for the future.

The Kansas City Royals making a comeback season

What the heck are the Minnesota Twins doing?

There is a thread for College Football

Doug stop baiting Iffy, he can't handle it.

Oh stop boo-hooing just because CFB was mentioned in this thread. And doug isn't smart enough to bait anyone. Here's more proof you're a hypocrite. When doug has talked about the Browns you also didn't have an issue w/ that. Comment # 14,384. Or how about when he mentions the Cavs? Comment # 14,271. Or when he mentions the Lions? Comment # 14,129.

Oh, when I have been on here I've been plenty negative. It's just not something I repeat as nauseum. Just a wait and see approach.

Very interested to see if there are any extensions with any of the remaining valuable core pieces going forward.

Kansas City scares me, not as much as the Indians and the White Sox are building something special there. If Cleveland doesn't run away with it, it could be a very good season.

Voltaire. Just don't mention 1948. That's a sore spot.
Let's face it. VERLANDER turns tables in indians and make them his bitch. I can see kluber having a some what down year. A little bit. After all. He pitched his guts out. And his team mates blew the WS ..so he will have that in his head all year

Zimmy. Healthy. Verlander sharp. Fulmer back stronger. Tigers look much the best on paper. Indians hung over from that really disappointing WS. 2017 has got a ring to it...for tiger fans

I like what the Royals did this offseason for the most part. Just not confident in the key spots that need to perform. The same set of high variance players are older, and not as talented as before. Offense has an outside chance of being decent but the rotation looks pretty nightmarish even as someone who is very much buying into this iteration of Duffy. Had Ventura stayed around there could've been a decent team if you squinted hard enough- now unless Kyle Zimmer rises from the grave, Vargas comes back fine, and Strahm magically turns into a quality starter- the pitching staff is pretty rough. Looks a lot like a 79 win team to me.

Sad gig about Ventura for sure, but the guy was a gaping asshole.

Can we make a new thread for 2017?

402 moar posts.

I agree with Smitty here that we need to hit 15k before we wrap this bitch up.

That said, once it is time to create a new thread, I would like to nominate @dougplayer to start it - if he's willing - hopefully with one a characteristically Tigers-bent assessment of what will happen in the ALc in 2017.

Doug, are you in?

Nice. I went to Coors last year, for game against the Dodgers. Great park. I want to go back.

I went there last year as well. In the fall. Amazing park and I had a great time. I bought my ticket the day of the game on StubHub for $8. Front row in that roof party deck deal, but I think I only sat in the seat for about an inning and a half.

No doubt Coors Field is a nice stadium. Traffic down in Denver's always a pain in the ass though.

When I was there, I stayed downtown, so I didn't have to worry about traffic, but it was still tough for me to get to the hotel on account of all the drinks I had and the three gummies I ate. I swear, I was walking down the sidewalk and when people weren't walking towards me, I had an eye closed so I could focus better.

God bless Colorado.

Two good weeks of work and we can meet our goals.
