Francona. Has lost control of club house. Indians remember that they are the indians. Can they stop the spiraling???

I suppose this year would be a good one to give it to a reliever. 0.55 ERA is damn impressive, much more so than any stats the contending starters have posted.

I tend to agree. Starter votes will be split up all over the place, but Britton will be high up on almost all ballots.

Doug sent me a message that he will make his prediction on whether or not the Tigers get a Wild Card spot at 5PM ET, on Oct 2. (Unless there is a tie).

BTW...the Wayne County Sheriffs Dept, Michigan State Police, Detroit Metro, and various other police agencies in SW Michigan have issued an APB to find Doug's 'ball sack'. Many police units have been issued magnifying glasses and microscopes to aid in the search.

The Tigers have shown they can only beat the Indians JV squad this year. You should be thanking us, we have kept you in the WC hunt, these last two games.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think Andrew Millers season is just as impressive as Britton's.

Not that I think either should win or anything.

It is nice they're waving the white flag and accepting the 3 seed.

watching Miller on a consistent basis is a lot of fun. That back foot slider is the closest to Randy Johnson's that I have seen.

Much like Chris Sale's as well.

My waaaaay to early 2017 ALc prediction. The Tigers will have the division wrapped up before the AS break.

So here's a thought ... if Justin Verlander throws blanks against the Braves on Sunday and wins the ERA title to go with his strikeout title, is he the front-runner among starters for Cy Young? His WHIP is almost identical to Porcello's (1.001 vs. 0.991), so all Porcello will have on him is wins. Given that Porcello has gotten about 75 more runs of offensive support this season than JV, I would think you throw out the wins.

not much of a choice when your top 3 starters cant pitch.
Been dealt a shitty hand when it comes to the rotation for sure.

Tito isn't waving the flag with his lineups though. Other than the hangover game. Which is kinda anticipated.

Yep.

Had he stayed a closer, that'd be three brutal lefties in the AL.

I'm waiting for Miller to go back to starting tbh. Not this year, but maybe next. He could be dominant for 180 innings instead of 80.

i dunno......i think you have to nit-pick at that poiint- and Verlander- besides the hangover game- was just awful against the Indians this year when he could have made a real difference.

I think that difference in WHIP is bigger than it seems.

JV would need to go CG-SO imo. Or real close. 8 maybe. If Price doesn't start Sunday, JV has a shot at innings as well. All three leading the league, assuming he gets W17, thatd do it. But a lot would have to fall in line.

Odds are slim.

Last I heard, Tanaka prolly won't start again(could've changed) so 3.07 is the benchmark right now.

now that would be fun. Indians need a lefty in the rotation.....Kluber, Miller, Carrasco, Salazar, Tomlin, Bauer, Clevinger, etc......????

actually- Tribe justm ight need him in the bullpen---- but then you see all the injuries starting pitchers get...

i dunno- its an interesting thought.

John Smoltz was talking about it early in the year when he was still with the Yankees.

Id like to see what he can do as a starter the second time around. But I get leaving him where he's great.
