So Salazar (and the AL's best pitching staff) gets LIT UP by the Twins to the tune of 12 runs.

News this AM is that Salazar is headed for a "precautionary" MRI on his elbow.

Doodie.
thats not good.

There were issues with him over the all star break of course...Lets hope its just some inflammation and skipping a start or two will get him back in line.

This is why you never trade major league starting pitching- you just never know. Its a good thing the Indians have such a deep rotation- but right now the 5th guy would prob be either Anderson or Clevinger I would guess- and neither has looked very good this year to say the least.

Don't look now, but Trevor Bauer had a 5.19 ERA in 26 July innings. He came out in relief during that marathon game in TOR on the 1st, put the stones to the Blue Jays, then got shellacked in four starts against NYY, MIN, BAL & OAK - 6.43 ERA in his last four.

He needs to get his shit together, and Kluber and Carrasco need to toe the fucking line.

Is that Kepler kid a real deal German? Or just some military brat?

For a bit there I forgot the Twins weren't in the International League.

Oh yeah, and fuck Jonathan Lucroy.
ill tell ya - i was ready to give up on Chiz a few times over the last few years- but he has turned himself into a decent player.

I wonder what the actual deal with Brantley is....if he can come back that would be better than any bat that could have been dealt for.

At this point, I'm thinking he might come back in September, if at all.

Lol at the Indians having an average offense. You have 6 guys that will be in your lineup that are bums. Your entire outfield is going to suck ass hole until brantley gets there... Then only two will suck out of three. Seriously. The Indians offense is gross.
genius.

Gomes and Uribe have been atriocous this year. But other than that, 7 of their 10 players with 200+ PA have a wRC+ of 110 or higher (100 being average). Davis has a 95 wRC+, but the average wRC+ for CF is 95. Davis also has a solid glove and provides very good baserunning.

Naquin won't keep hitting like this forever, especially with a .439 BABIP. He still projects as a league average-ish hitter, but if he keeps hitting for power like he's been since the promotion (.289 ISO), he could be better than that.

@dougplayer

just out of curioisity doug- do you ever actually say- ya know what? I shit the bed bad on napoli...hed be the best power hitter on the tigers this year and is 2nd in the league in homers by a first basemen- i blew that call.

I do have to say- i certainly over estimated gomes' bat and was wrong on that.

I was DEFINITELY right* on Justin Upton though...year 1 of his contract, switching leagues....that has disaster written all over it.

Fullmer though?- wow....great get. almost a lil early kluber-esque when i have seen him.
