the strangest thing about Naquin, to me anyway, was this power, and his crappy D.Gomes and Uribe have been atriocous this year. But other than that, 7 of their 10 players with 200+ PA have a wRC+ of 110 or higher (100 being average). Davis has a 95 wRC+, but the average wRC+ for CF is 95. Davis also has a solid glove and provides very good baserunning.
Naquin won't keep hitting like this forever, especially with a .439 BABIP. He still projects as a league average-ish hitter, but if he keeps hitting for power like he's been since the promotion (.289 ISO), he could be better than that.
I thought he could hit for average since when he was drafted he was said to have the "best pure bat" in the draft. I was seriously skeptical when they drafted an outfielder who is like barely 6 foot , like 175 at the time with no power in the top 15....
I thought hed give the tribe a solid average, steal a few bags and play really solid D...instead his defense has been pretty crappy and hes hitting the shit outta the balll.....itll be interesting to see where he lands.
