Predicting the Royals future.......if there is one person who has absolutely no business discussing the future of the Kansas City ballclub, it is Vice. "Gosh and Golly, Mr. Vice" - this guy has spent how many years PROVING himself completely wrong about that franchise. A normal human being would just shut the hell up about KC after such a debacle. I don't know what is so hard for you to admit that the way that things stand.. the Royals are NOT setting themselves up for a soft landing. After 2017 they are going to have 4 guys looking for large long term contracts. They already have a ton of bad money on the books for 2018-2020. They have no farm system to lean on right now. By the time 2017 comes to an end... the farm isn't going to be rebuilt... and they are not going to be able to afford to hand out the cash to keep everyone.

Hosmer is going to get a deal in the 8 yr 200-250 mil range... bare min
Moustakas is going to get a deal in the 6 yr 100 mil range.. bare min
Cain is going to get a deal in the 5 year 80 mil range... bare min
Duffy is going to get a deal in the 4 year 60 mil range.. bare min
Wade Davis is going to get a deal in the 3 yr 40 mil range... bare min
Escobar is going to get a deal in the 4 yr 50 mil range bare min

The team has a total of 11 impact free agents after 2017 season ends... Good luck with that... Because it ain't going to be pretty.
