Was really rooting for the Gophers this time. Their pitching coach Tood Oakes lost his battle with leukemia and a lot of people were hoping for a deep run.

Doug, you might know the answer to this. Is it true that the UM wanted to open their football season at home against 'St. Mary's Home for Wayward Girls', but Harbaugh scouted them and vetoed the idea. So they decided to go with the University of Hawaii instead?
Then, I believe they follow that up with games, at home, against Trenton High (JV), and then, the South Park Cows.
