Ye of little faith... how can you judge him on the 2nd start of season? Cold.against the good hitting pirates.....how did price do in play offs?

I see a Braves' pitcher broke his arm throwing a pitch. I could see Sanchez one uping that guy by throwing his entire right arm into the screen behind home plate. I already put $200, at 10 to 1, that VMart will drop his groin on the chalk line between home and first. I also put $100 down that he'd drop his groin anywhere on the basepaths...but they only gave 5 to 4 odds on that

So you decided ''weather'' was the best excuse out of the list I gave you? Not very inventive. I was hoping you'd pick the 'nipple rash' that I suggested.
:tsk:

I'm basing my judgement on his last 50 or so starts.

Jon Niese was remarkable against a good hitting Tigers team today. (Got that ERA back south of 6 I believe)

Goes McCann and Upton terrible at the plate. Gosh is never going to be a good hitter.only reason he is on roster is he is cheap. Never liked mcann. Rookie season. He tried to be little boss for aussmouse! He is a light hitting catcher. Dime a dozen

Man talk about negativity. Doug says Upton, McCann, Gose...a third of the every day lineup is garbage. Wow doug....sure is going to be hard for Verlander to win 20 games with 1/3 of the batting order not contributing. Stop being a hater, doug!!!!!! McCann is the next Mickey Cochrane.

Verlander's last 55 starts (including one post season start), 2014, 2015, two starts 2016:

20 wins/ 21 loses
ERA: 4.21
Whip: 1.30
K%:7.41 lifetime avg is 8.28
IP per start: approx 6.3 (not bad, but remember the Leyland factor! :) )

Doug, I know you will have some babble to counter this....but you are aware that David Price has an ERA last year of 2.45 and he won only 18 games. Perhaps you could "see" Verlander winning 16-17 games this year???? Might make you sound a little more sane.
Right, because wins are directly correlational to a pitcher's ERA

Upton. Swings for fences every pitch....

but it's a HR swing and those count too, right. like your I'll take HR's all day over small ball play and manufacturing runs the old fashion way (SB, bunt, hit and run. wait. no one on this team is honestly a great or even very good base runner or stolen base)

Wow, good one! The logical retort to a claim is not attempting to refute it, i.e., proving that wins and low ERA's are directly proportional, no, it's saying that someone throws like a girl. I wish I could be as witty as you:L

LOL. I guess I was "served". :pound:
BTW...did you ever figure out and comprehend that you really aren't helping the Phillies win (or lose) by studying the stats put out by Fangraphs. I really felt sorry for you when I read that particular post of yours.
