multiple concussions aren't as serious as an mcl sprain?

Apparently not.

Look, you can spend as much time as you want trying to compare Avila to Gomes.

Once given regular ABs in 2013, Gomes slashed .319/.385/.485/.869 in his final 49 games and followed that up with .278/.313/.476/.785 in 2014. Five games into 2015, a collision at the plate sprained his MCL and kept him out for almost a month and a half. He came back weak in late May and got stronger as the season went on, finishing with a .264/.286/.471/.757 line in September. He's also a plus backstop.

If you consider that a bum, and want to pretend as if you wouldn't be talking about how fucking awesome his 2016 was going to be if he were a Tiger, I'm content to let you.

I'll give you credit, man. You have no concern about making yourself look like you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about on here.

Sometimes it's amusing to watch, but right now it's boring.
boring to watch like yan gomes at the plate.

Alex Avila's 2011 season is better than anything Yan Gomes has done and ever will do.

Yan Gomes will never have an obp anywhere near .389 or an OPS+ of 142. Avila was a better defensive catcher before the injuries as well... In a bum fight avila beats gomes ass.

Gomes has a cannon....he will be one of the better hitting catchers in the league and one of the better defensive catchers as well. Hes not a star thats for sure- but hes around the top third of catchers out there.

I really wouldnt mind if the Indians just gave Tyler Naquin the starting CF job and just let him catch everything hit out there--- he has an absolute gun for an arm too....he has very very little power- but when he was drafted he was supposedly "the best pure hitter" in the draft.....can steal a couple bases and hopefully hit for a decent average.......obviously this a big hole in the roster and ideally on a contending team he would be eased into the lineup as a 4th outfielder- but when you draft a guy in the first round and he plays pretty well you gotta give him the opportunity i think...at the very least you are going to get a great defender...

Morning Vice. Gotta question. Why, in the past, did you spend so much time lambasting (good word, huh?) Avila - especially his lack of hitting - and then you spend a lot of time here arguing in his defense? Seems EXACTLY what a super homer would do. You spent many a post on SportsHoopla and elsewhere tearing Avila a new one....but as soon as a Tribe fan does....here comes SUPER HOMER to Avila's rescue.

Look out dougie...Vice is after your job. LOL

I called Avila a bum... He is a bum.. just like Yan Gomes... The difference is Avila has had a better season than the one good one that Yan Gomes had... They are both bums... how much clearer can I be for you old man?
