your grasp of the english language isn't strong... i understand.. that ohio education you got didn't give you much of a chance.

Yeah, okay. Tell me more about "all intensive purposes" and the difference between "then" and "than."

You're way, way out of your depth, kid.

No one is saying he's washed up. Stan brought up the fact that Cabrera is entering the age when many players start to break down, which he is. That does not mean he will, it means he could. The fact that he missed significant time last year for the first time in his career illustrates that Stan's point was not unfounded.

Point taken. Stating it's possible makes sense. Acting like a big decline is inevitable because the guy hit the DL (for the first time, incidentally) in 2015 is wrong. I do agree, he did not word it that way.

Mark Teixeira being used in a comparison to Miggy Cabrera is once again.. the dumbest comparison ever.

So are you going to deny that Frank Thomas broke down in his 30s? Waiting for it....

I don't think anyone has. From my perspective, I'd expect a season at least as good as last year's from Cabrera.

Frank Thomas had injuries in his late 30's... yes... I am sure Miggy Cabrera will not finish the rest of his career without another DL trip.. but to act like he is going to fall off a cliff is hilarious. Nobody was calling Frank Thomas the greatest hitter of his and most generations... Many say that of Cabrera.

Kinsler has a career OBP of .344 and had an OBP of .342 in 2015.. He is hardly a shitty OBP guy.

Yep, you are correct. For some reason I had it in my head that he doesn't walk enough. Career-wise, he's not horrible in that regard. I must have been remembering his 2014 season (29 walks, .307 OBP), when even Alex Avila got on base at a better rate.

I would expect Miggy to still hit well above major league average when his contract is nearing its end. Injuries may not allow him to play 162 games.. but to think he is going to lose the ability to hit in his late 30's is a joke.

What? Up until age 30, Thomas had a .330 career batting average and 182 OPS+. People were definitely saying he was the best hitter of his generation up to that point.

Avila always could draw a walk.. He just sat there with the bat on his shoulder and either struck out looking or took his base.

No... they really were not.

Show any evidence of anyone reputable ever claiming Frank Thomas as the greatest hitter of his generation... you won't find it.

LOL ... coupled with his propensity to strike out once every 3.3 at-bats or so, the amount of times Avila went to the plate and never made contact is maddening! :heh:
