Kipnis' OPS+ was identical to Upton's, and once called up, Lindor's was better. I'm sure you saw that, but it didn't fit your narrative.
lindor played how many games last year? was he qualified? no... i did see kipnis was equal.. however.. that isn't better is it.

Never let reality get in the way of shitting on teams that finished above yours last year.

The point you were trying to assert was that Upton is a better hitter than every Indian with the exception of an injured Brantley. Of course, that's not true, so you adjusted your "did you know" bit accordingly.

Upton IS a better hitter than Kipnis.. Look at career numbers.

Jason Kipnis wishes he was Justin Upton at the plate.

The fact they lost 3 of their main bullpen arms from last year... and are going into the season with Ian Kennedy as a starter, and he had an ERA+ of 85 last year in a pitcher friendly environment.

A good portion of Kennedy's numbers spike may be due to the injury he had early in the season. The last 4 months of 2015, he had a 3.41 ERA and averaged more than a K per inning. I can't imagine him being much worse than a guy like Guthrie or Cueto during the KC time last year.

Regarding the bullpen, they lost Holland, Madson and Morales. Holland was pretty bad, and they added Soria, who was better than Morales and Holland last year. I don't see Holland being a big loss because of how poor he was, but Madson is a huge loss.

I don't see how these are enough to make a team go from an 111 ERA+ to sucking...

Yea I forgot about him and edited the post before your reply...Holland was pretty bad last year, so I'm not sure how big a loss that will be.

I'm not saying that Kipnis is a better hitter, in fact I agree that Upton is better, but it's a lot closer than these numbers indicate and certainly closer than you're implying. These career numbers are skewed by an injury year for Kipnis and an outlier "MVP" year from Upton.
