Big eff'n deal. The Tigers' 2016 fortunes do not hinge greatly on their #9 hitter being a stud at the plate.

what the hell are these numbers?

Iglesias is who I assume the clown is talking about.. and he is a career .287ba/.336obp/.697ops with two consecutive years batting .300 or better with obp of .347 and .349.

If Iglesias bats .300+ with a .340+ OBP again this year I should get to do to iffy what peyton manning did to that chick that worked for the university of Tennessee

Iglesias will have a tough time repeating those numbers this year. Fangraphs predicts an offensive and defensive downturn for Iglesias largely based around the assumption that playing MLB caliber baseball will be near impossible, with McCanns shoe up his ass.

I also don't get the "breaks easily" label on Iglesias. To me, he proved he is over the stress fracture issues last year -- no recurrence whatsoever. His DL stint was due to being hit on the hand with a pitch -- a freak thing.

Hot dog? For sure. Not a team player? Quite likely. Fragile? To me, not a fair label.

funny.. he repeated 2013's numbers quite easily. Fangraph predictions are about as reliable as your limp dick iffy.

Iglesias is a hot dog for sure. Nothing outside of the argument with McCann suggests he is an clubhouse issue. In fact.. if you look up off season work outs... You will see Iglesias in many of the videos with Miggy and Vmart. He obviously is well liked by them. McCann on the other hand was a rookie that doesn't seem to really have the same relationship with the vets. I would be more worried about McCann overstepping his boundaries this year than Iglesias. I doubt Miggy would take to kindly to McCann saying shit to him... and I am pretty sure if McCann pulled that shit with him... he would be traded the second a GM picked up the phone call from Avila.

sigh....do I now have to make up 5 or 6 posts to prove I am right about Iglesias?

No, I guess not. I am not an insecure narcissist....who feels he must prove to the world he has value.

Iglesias at SS > McCann at C... its a fact. I like McCann but he in no way is a top level catcher right now. Iglesias is an All Star SS that may very well be the best defender at the position in the AL.

BP's PECOTA projections are the best available to the public.

.268/.315/.347

That would be an OPS regression of 55 points.
