Three divisions -- ALE, ALW, and NLC -- still look to be very much contestable. As the Royals showed last year, however, winning the division is not necessary, let alone sufficient, for postseason success.

The AL Wild Card race is particularly interesting, though it looks fairly certain that the Pirates and Cubs (sorry @moxie) have nailed down those spots in the NL. In the AL, however, even MN, LAA, and Cleveland are still strong contenders for at least nine innings of postseason ball!

Those are the best bets, but in no way would I call either one a "lock".

I thought you meant that NYM and LAD are "locks" to play one another for NL pennant. While I think that is likely, I don't think it is certain to happen.

Totally agree. Makes me sick here in NY to here sports talk radio talking up the Mets acting like they're beating anyone good. The Mets played one team worth a damn since August (sorry the Nats are no longer worth a damn) were the Pirates and they got swept.

I didn't have high hopes for this season, it being an odd year and all. I'll be content to see LA get their dreams crushed though so if anyone could help out with that, 'preesh!

Nope we won 11 of 13 on the road. I'm expecting to win 2 of 3. I don't like the pitching matchups though. Really dislike Nova and Pineda been up and down but the Mets suck against good teams. Proof is in the pudding

Combined records of the Braves, Phils, & Marlins is 117-260.

And they get to play 57 games against those teams this year

15 games under .500 compared to 143 games under .500.
