Pirates up 4-1 after four innings and they've knocked Jason Hammel out of the game already. If they can hold the lead, Lester might be pitching for the Cubs' playoff life in the nightcap.
Mets are only 7th in run differential, too.
They are a one trick pony - great pitching.
Trevor Cahill grounds out 9-3 and it wasn't even close.
The 2011 Cardinals had to get healthy and they had to figure out all of their trade pieces. My memory could be failing me but I remember that team being banged up a lot. I also remember that being a good offensive team despite the record setting double plays they ground into.Pretty sure the 2011 Cardinals would agree.

They are a one trick pony - great pitching. If that slips for some reason then they'll go lose a lot (see: the Cardinals the past 10 games or so)
Wait a minute...
Shortstop...
Left Field...
Center Field...
He grounded out to RF??? Was that into the shift or something?
You still have to go out and win those playoff games, though. The Mets, on the whole, are not very playoff-experienced.
Everything matters in October. I'm not discounting anything. I do think the Dodgers probably want to avoid the Cardinals and the Mets probably want to avoid the Cubs but other than that the NL is the wild west and anyone can get gunned down if you get in.That's a dumb comment about run differential. As if games in April & May are relvant to October. How has it been since they acquired Cespedes and got D. Wright back?
P.S. Pitching is supposed to be most important in October.

Chappee making me moist
I'm bullish on our Mets, Hu. I think they are the perfect team to get hot and make a deep run this year.
