I’m leaning towards the ideal scenario being Seattle taking Jake, even if the Flyers need to include an asset (within limits). This team has too many pass-first players up front, which is a big part of the reason why the chemistry isn’t working and the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

I agree with that. I guess I just don't see Jake as a possibility with his longer deal. But I definitely agree, I'd rather keep JvR for the same reason you mentioned.

Who wins the Pens vs Isles series? I have Isles in 6. Unfortunately I will be stuck watching it because somehow my son likes the Pens:( That's my wife's Ohio family that brainwashed him at young age. I tried everything to get him to drink the Orange and black kool aid. He loves Gritty though.
Pens in 6

Fletcher was a little more forceful in his interview with LeBrun. (paywall)

“How would he describe the 2020-21 Flyers season in one word?I will use two words: poor defensively,’’ he said. There’s no possible argument to that. It’s as plain as day.

“We finished 31st in the league in goals against and 31st in the league in save percentage,” said Fletcher. “You have no chance to be successful giving up the number of chances and the number of goals that we did this year.’’

LeBrun mentioned Eichel, Ekholm, Ellis, and Jones as guys the Flyers would probably be in on, if they do become available. Fletcher also gave a forecful vote of confidence in the coaching staff. AV, Yeo, and Therrien will be back next season.

Oh no. That’s grounds for excommunication is it not? :p

Unfortunately I think the Pens win that one. They’re coming in a on a better roll. I’ll go Pens in 6. But I hope I’m wrong!
Lotsa hockey talk has Pens going pretty deep. Carter being hailed as best trade at deadline. Gotta think Hall to Bruins has worked out pretty well.

pS. I hate the Pens - in case y’all haven’t picked up on that.

We need to get bigger more nasty and more skilled is all he should've said. That covers it.

IMO Bruins made the better deadline deal and will go further than the Pens.

I just read that Drew Doughty could be on the trade block. He is signed for 6 more years at $11,000,000/year. They retained 50% of Carter's salary which only has 1 more year. Outside of Hamilton, there really isn't a real #1 right handed dman to play with Provy. I wonder what it would take? TK, Frost, 1st round plus ??? if they retain $3,000,000/year?

Ill take this deal for only 8 million a top defenseman that's righty. The back end of the deal may be messed up as he will be 37 but ill take the good years for now.

I think Rask being back and healthy makes this Bruins team dangerous and possibly going to the cup.

If Pens win Cup, Jeff Carter will be the 9th ex-Flyer to win a cup at Pittsburgh.

Ryan Hartman for wild can’t possibly be the same Ryan Hartman that played for flyers.
