I think he may be worth keeping on the roster. I feel like he was not the problem. Not sure how the option works or that the 22 mil is a givenso u think hes worth 22 mil which is what the option is expected to be no thx
The Patriots would have been on the hook for about $23 million guaranteed had they picked up the option. Instead, Jones will play out the 2024 season on a base salary of about $2.785 million and then will become an unrestricted free agent in 2025, per Daniels.I think he may be worth keeping on the roster. Ahh there is my misunderstanding I assumed the 5th year option was for this season. He is on the roster this season and not next. that makes more sense to me. Allows us to bring in a rookie and have a back up planThe Patriots would have been on the hook for about $23 million guaranteed had they picked up the option. And I read this morning the Pats are not hell bent on a taking a QB at #3. With the depth at QB and WR this year. well potential depth, the Pats could be sitting pretty. It would be nice if we had a GM to handle all this.Patriots are in the Catbird seat at #3.
Everyone is assuming that the Bears are taking Williams and that the Commanders are taking Maye.
There are already rumors that the Cardinals are trying to move to #2 or #3 to get Harrison and will be offering offering #4 and #21 as a start. The Commanders supposedly want Maye at #2 after the Bears take Caleb Williams at #1.
All Mayo has to say is that he is looking at taking Harrison and the Patriots will need at least five phones to handle the calls.
I'd certainly take #4 and #21 plus for the #3.
Then again, the Chicago media is saying that the Bears want to make a deal with the Patriots and will give up #9 plus for the #3 to get Harrison.
If both the Bears and the Cardinals want Harrison, the Patriots could get a real haul in picks and possibly players.
Rumor last night:It would be nice if we had a GM to handle all this.
I would rather not have CO-GMs, name one I don't want to two GMs or two egos bumping heads.Rumor last night:
Groh and Wolfe will be CO-GMs.
Nothing to confirm. I'm still waiting.

I like the @BigKen deal where we trade them our #3 for their #9 and they also give us back our #3. It seems irresistible and I fail to see any downsides. Then again, the Chicago media is saying that the Bears want to make a deal with the Patriots and will give up #9 plus for the #3 to get Harrison.
#9 and what else?
#4 and #21 isn't too bad.
Alt and Bowers maybe?
A LT and a RT?
So...can we trade #3 for #9, #3 and Justin Fields?I like the @BigKen deal where we trade them our #3 for their #9 and they also give us back our #3. It seems irresistible and I fail to see any downsides.
What I'm saying is this, if both Chicago and Arizona want Harrison, let them start a bidding war against each other for the #3.Or...Hear me out...trade #3 to Chicago for # 9 and Fields, convince Chicago to trade #3 to Arizona for #4 and #21 and then give them back to New England?
If I was Jerod...which I am not in his position, nor will I ever be...I would start putting out that I thought the QB's were weapon deprived and I would also commend MHJ on his play making ability. What I'm saying is this, if both Chicago and Arizona want Harrison, let them start a bidding war against each other for the #3.
Arizona has the #4 and #1 picks in the first round.
Chicago has the #9 and little else except Justin Fields and bunch of offensive linemen.
ESPN today 1/31/2024 is saying that Chicago has already approached the Patriots about trading Justin Fields. Nothing about draft picks or anything else. Just that they have approached them and have apparently offered him. My guess? JF and #9 as the opening offer for #3. You know that Arizona has heard about it and if they want Harrison as bad as has been said, will have to come forward with something better. #4 and #21?
That certainly leaves the door open for more wheeling and dealing, especially if a team has eyes on Daniels. Like maybe Tenn.? Would they give up #7 and #38? Or would the Giants move in and offer #6 and #39 AND #47 or #70. Nothing like a bidding war and being the recipient of the bids.

Prepare to have it broken. Especially if the Patriots bring back Josh McDaniels as the OC. He'll push JM to pick a pocket type passer like Penix or Nix or even McCarthy. I pray that Mayo doesn't have a Viagra supply for broken players like BB. Stay away from Penix and his twice repaired right ACL/MCL.I have my heart set on Daniels.
It's not candy if it's a fair asking price. If several teams are willing to trade similar value, it's a fair asking price. If I was Jerod...which I am not in his position, nor will I ever be...I would start putting out that I thought the QB's were weapon deprived and I would also commend MHJ on his play making ability.
Even if I didn't want MHJ, If Arizona traded #4 and #21, that's candy from a baby.

mcnuggets drafted tebow u sure u want him picking the next qbI'm not sure why you think that. The Patriots are clearly trying to move in a new direction. It's possible they've already decided their draft desires and perhaps if Josh doesn't agree he's not offered the job.
