I've read and heard that Vrabel wants to give Caedan Wallace a fair shot at LT. He got bounced around two OL positions last year and never got a chance to settle anywhere. He was also hurt and came back and played before he was fully healed. Maybe with better coaching and playing one side of the line, he ""might"" be an answer.

Or is he throwing shit against a wall. It's cool to say " I want to give the kid a chance", but then if you go out and draft other positions and he still sucks where does that leave the team? Fuck that he sucked, and people can make all the excuses they want, but he was horrible.

Give the kid a chance but, You still draft our franchise LT.
If Caedan is any good, he can be a swing tackle and / or trade bait!

"might" doesn't change things. We go into the draft desperately needing a LT.....
If Vrabel convinces Wolf they don't need to spend a high pick on an LT because they already have Wallace and just grab one Friday or Saturday it could seriously change things.

Don't misconstrue...I am not saying that is a good thing, or that I agree with him, if that's what he said. Only that it would change the perceived needs entering the draft. That would put DE, TE or even RB or WR at the forefront.

I still feel they would be best served to swap with NO. Pats 4 NO 9 and their second round pick. Then we move back into the 1st if we did not get a LT at nine. If we did more firepower in round 2

Vrable said for the world to hear, there are LTs on day two and three.

No matter how any of us want to interpret that, he must have someone in mind or thinks that there is someone who can fit the position if they go into day 2 or 3 without grabbing a Campell or Simmons. I think it's a long reach to think Membou can immediately be an NFL LT considering that he's been a RT forever. Names we don't even think about like Anthony Belton 6'6" 336 NC ST, Hollin Pierce 6'8" 344 Rutgers, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson 6'7" 322 FLORIDA all have been LTs their entire career.. Never know who's going to step up and then take a spot.

We all agree LT is the biggest need. But do any of us think Campbell or any other LT in this draft is a sure fire pick at #4-10?

I think and hope either Wallace or Lowe can do enough at LT in a McDaniels scheme. Enough not to chase a LT that is questionable that early. Trade down if we can. Take a play maker and then see where either a Simmons, Ersery or Tapilo fall. Maybe they surprise us and win the starting job.

Get a high potential playmaker, because most pundits still question how good any of these LTs are. If none pan out make LT the priority next year. Can't fix everything this year.

Most pundits agree the top skill position players will succeed. Maybe not elite but quality starters with great potential. None say that about the LTs.

Have you read anywhere that Vrabel wants to keep players and not give them fair shots?

He could be saying shit to mislead as well. And I agree about Membou yes he had a great combine, but he is for all intent and purpose a RT

No one here knows what the Pats are thinking, doing, embellishing etc..

1) this does not mean that we won’t take a LT in 1st
2) this does not mean that Vrabel wants to let the competition nor the reporters know what cards he will play.

any other LT in this draft is a sure fire pick at #4-10?
The only guy I think can step in immediately is Simmons and play the position against the edges that he'll be facing. Then again, like any rookie, he'll have to work his ass off in camp and the preseason to get up to NFL speed to handle. He'll be facing guys like Garrett, TJ Watt, Hendrickson and Crosby.

Maybe it's a shot at BB not giving N'Keal Harry a fair shot at WR?

He ended up a bust. But if you get onto YouTube and watch his college highlights…. The guy looked incredible. I don’t blame Coach B for selecting him. He looked that great.
