Are they literally going to make Villanova Knicks jerseys or what? City Connect next year LOL
For those of us who grew up in Philadelphia this development is quite funny. Villanova isn’t a “local” school. There are more Knicks Giants Yankees etc…posters hanging in dorm rooms at Villanova than there are Sixers Eagles and Phillies stuff hanging in those dorms.

Trading bridges is fine. Trading him to an established contender is silly. I would have rather work with Houston where you can likely still get a few top 20 picks and possibly some lottery picks
Sounds like he forced his way to Knicks

If the Knicks bring back OG they will have Hart and DDV coming off the bench. Looks like they want to be like Boston and have really good depth.

Thibs will still run his starters to death and let the rest get bench sores.

I have a hard time seeing Hart coming off the bench after playing huge minutes this year.

If they bring back OG, then they are dumping Randle. They may dump Randle either way.

Those Knicks draft picks are going to be late first rounders. They won’t get a single additional lottery pick from this deal. We are talking about likely a pick in the range of 23-30 in round 1

2029 and 2031 are far enough out that the Knicks could be toast.

The nets and Knicks rarely make deals

So that alone is kind of a big deal

I’m surprised it didn’t involve either 2024 pick since the Knicks have 2 and the nets zero

Nets wanted a first this year too. I would expect them to deal off another piece tonight for a pick, maybe DFS?

The next couple years, yes.

But as I have always said, the value in a deal like this is with the distant future picks. After the Knicks current core is done.

You are making it seem like this is a bad deal because they dealt Bridges to their rival.

The teams are not on the same trajectory. It isn’t like the Nets are trying to compete today.

They need to take the best package they can get. And it looks like that was from the Knicks.
That’s not the best package they could get.

Thibs is doing just fine in NY.

The pressure level is going to continue to rise, and Thibs eventually burns out and loses his locker room (at least has in previous stints).

It was a joke anyway, lol.

Force doesn’t mean you have to be a pussy as we saw with Portland last summer with Dame. They needed to stand ten toes down especially after the bs they dealt with during the season from Brunson and hart damn near teasing him about being with the nets. No way in hell am I trading him to the Knicks with 2 yrs left on his contract

Well, the Nets have 4 1st rounders in next year's draft. And it's supposed to be a really good draft.
The best part of their deals yesterday was the fact they somehow got their pick back. Houston is dumb

They can.

Just won’t be in the next couple years.

Any non contender willing to give up that many picks for Bridges would be incredibly stupid.
Some contenders, including the Knicks have other team’s picks. If Brooklyn were smart they would have negotiated for the best of the multiple picks Knicks had in certain years.

Do you think the league will do anything with tampering? Most people read this stuff as jokes when it was happening but the news that this was a force out is pretty shady.
I think they have to now. This is a horrible look for the league because it was so out in the open. This isn’t like some shit that happened in private while guys are playing for team USA. Hart was as very public about having bridges join them

The Knicks core likely going to be around and good in 2029. Only possible pick I can see being good for the nets is the 2031 pick

I just don’t agree with trading to your in state rival especially when they look at you as the little brother. I can imagine the shit nets are going to hear if the Knicks win a title with bridges
They won’t even be able to boo him at the first Knicks game in Brooklyn because the arena will be over run with Knicks fans.

Yep.

They were flush with picks.

A lot of their remaining picks have protections though. They could have 4 next year, but also could only have 1, but likely at least 2 (pick from Pistons protected top 13, Bucks top 4, Wizards top 10). Those picks from the Pistons and Wizards could very well end up 2nds in 2027.
