They have enough firsts to draft the role players to fill in around them

They can move around the draft board to get their guys
I do think that is the plan and why Presti holds so tightly to the picks

Would you give him a max?

For the money, would you want Ingram at the max or would you rather have Kuzma or Grant?
If I was N.O. I wouldn't pay him max.

If I was another team giving up a sizeable trade package you still have to pay him- no way.
Like Cleveland would have to give up Garland then pay him $10-15M per year than he was getting. No thanks.

If it were any other player, for any other roster, I would be like heeeeeellllllll nah.

But it’s Lebron and it’s the Lakers who paid Kobe for his farewell tour.

So…

*shoulder shrug *

It helps it go down easier knowing he's still playing at an All-NBA level. Now given his age, I won't be shocked at all if one day it falls off a cliff for him but its fine. I was against them re-signing Kobe to the max for a couple reasons 1) he coming off multiple bad injuries so you knew he wouldn't be the same given his age and 2)Literally no other team was gonna max him. They could have signed him for 15 to 18 mil per (still higher than what others would have paid imo) and still got the deal done. Lebron though, defensive slowdown aside, is still pretty much Lebron.

Exactly.

Dude isn’t cooked.

It never hurts to have a player of his caliber retire wearing your jersey.

I don’t ever see Lebron going out like Dirk or Duncan as far as taking a pay cut for the betterment of the team.

Whose gonna blink?

George is going to walk across the hall and play for the league minimum to play with the James family, AD, and their new clown coach, Redick. lol.

Yep.

Take that 4 year deal worth 12 mil total over 3 years 170 mil.

Clear as mud why he would do such a thing.

Hopefully he falls off a cliff immediately to prove your gm right
Maybe literally.

He clearly isn’t the most sturdy fella.

I could see him getting injured again, no matter where he plays.

But not skill wise.

For the record, I love Paul George.

I wanted to keep him, not Kawhi.

But if losing him is the price I have to pay to never see Harden in a Clipper jersey again, I will gladly pay it.

I hate that sloth Bitch.

harden was not your problem this year.

In fact, one he got his sea legs without having TC your starting 5 one of the top 3 or so in the entire league.

The rest of the roster sucked though

He's also quite a bit better than Kobe was during his last couple of seasons. Outside of "butts in seats" he's not really worth that much at this stage, but he's close enough that, unless he suffers a really bad injury, it's not likely to be a bad overpay.
