They bottomed out and sold off everything that wasn't nailed down. Not the ideal path for league balance.
Yet, they were still competitive.

Since they traded all those guys in 2019, They had 2 bad years.

That’s a pretty good trade off for the roster and assets they have.

So, yeah.

I consider that building the right way.

You know what’s not the ideal path for league balance? Having 2 teams with half the titles. The Thunder are the model for stopping that.

Exactly. Lakers cater to their stars even when you don't take into account the money that rolls in when these elite players are on the roster. Keeps that positive impression to entice the next star FA to follow after Lebron.
Yup.

He might not be the best player in the NBA anymore.

But he’s still the most popular.

It’s not ideal to be paying him such a high salary with the new CBA constraints.

But it’s palatable because of the revenue he brings in.

No repeat winners since 2018, that's good for business in their eyes.

The Celtics inclusion in that number is based largely on the 60s, several generations ago. Celtics have won 3 of the last 40.

Lakers have won 9 in that span, Warriors 4, Spurs 4, Heat 3, Bulls 3.

This draft-day or pre-draft trade is crap and it is Ainge attempting to fleece the Lakers again. If the Lakers fall for this, they are indeed a bunch of dumbasses.

Not really. Getting a trade done this week can avoid the new regulations that are being rolled in on July 1st.

Trivia time: Which NBA team has had the most head coaches since the start of the 2011-2012 season?

Including interim coaches.

I don't mind Sexton, depends on what they give up and what they have left for other moves. A DLo trade (if he opts in) would be clean. Maybe just taking protections off of that 2027 pick could substitute for including 17. Maybe it becomes a bigger deal with Kessler (or Lauri - I can hope lol).

Well, you’d need to include salary.

Would you rather it be Reaves?

They can’t trade D’lo unless he opts in.

If he’s fully healthy, even with the size difference, I’d prefer Sexton over D Lo, especially at that price point.

If the Lakers are targeting a Center, Rui is probably expendable, even if he’d be a bench luxury.

If the Lakers are giving up 17, they better get 29 AND 32.

Any trade they make for a certain salary level is likely to require Rui. He's that piece, salary wise.
