I am on the side of DJ on this one. Ainge just thinks he can r*pe the Lakers and that has to stop. Sexton and a lost of draft capital is not the answer to the Lakers' roster woes. Besides, a better option for the Lakers is to sit tight, take Edey at 17, and then deal with the DRuss situation.

Winning isn’t all that matters for some guys.

He’s a kid.

So, he probably thinks this opportunity will come again.

I have a feeling he may regret this move in a few years.

Great job by Presti to get ahead of this and get his ass gone for a upgrade.

New Bulls guard Josh Giddey is holding his first media availability since the trade. He confirms Sam Presti's comments were accurate "At 21 years old... coming off the bench at this point in my career isn't something I'm overly eager to do"Says Presti understood his position.

Winning matters once you get that bag

I guess he would rather be a starter on a losing team than a 6th man on a winning team. He is lucky he is still playing basketball. I agree, he will probably regret it down the road

He needs to have a big year to get paid

And he has more leverage with the bulls now than he did in okc

Bridges and George are going to be like 70m alone

Embiid over 50

Maxey and Melton 28

They’re over with those

Probably end up with 2 smaller guys than Melton in that case unless the dude gets squeezed out because nba teams are stupid (and they are)
Nope. I was just reading about this. They can finagle year 1 of what PG13 looks like to make it happen.

They can add the '92 dream team too.

141 million:
Embiid 51
PG13 and traded player 60 million not 70 million - this is the only way PG13 is getting anything close to a 4 year max. It will be the 4 year max minus about 10 million in total dollars.
Maxey and Melton cap hold 28 million.

I’m at 138

Lowry and Batum split the midlevel exception and make about 6 million a year.

Maxey Melton PG13 Lauri Embiid

Batum Lowry Ricky Council IV and some league minimum guys.

Like I said, the trades for Bridges or for Lauri are the most difficult thing here to get done but there is a pathway and the cap won’t be a problem.

That’s not the 4 year max that is holding the deal up.

We’ll see how that goes

You only have the room exception once you use cap space

So batum Lowry or oubre pick one

Yes it is. That’s the undefined salary that can be adjusted right now. The other pieces are locked in.

I’m just talking about the cap situation. This is now the third time I’m saying the trade for Lauri or Bridges is the toughest piece of this.
It's impossible.

Lauri's return....

“Something like four or five first-round picks, and a star-level talent coming over."

Still have to add in PG13's return and then sign Bridges. It doesn't matter if the money somehow adds up.

I think 1 of the 3 is possible.

Bridges likely stays with the Hornets.
Lauri asking price is crazy
PG13 essentially forcing his way out and LA return would not be crazy like the Lauri asking price.

And they will use the cap space when they land on the precise dollar figure needed in year 1 of 4 for PG13. Oubre can demand the full midlevel on the market. It’s Batum and Lowry who will stick around in Philly to split the total.

The most difficult piece of the deal. It has to happen now too. You need this money in place when FA opens and you sign PG13. They get Lauri for 5 firsts and however many 2nds and swaps Philly can send. I don’t think Ainge is herring a star level talent for Lauri anyway.
The other possibility here is Mikal Bridges for a similar deal.
Still have to add in PG13's return and then sign Bridges.
No I don’t. PG13 is a pure FA signing because of Philly cap space and Bridges you’re talking about is Miles Bridges. I was talking an either or not both trade with Mikal Bridges or Lauri to round out front court with PG13 around Embiid.
It doesn't matter if the money somehow adds up.

Not even talking Hit A Bitch Bridges
Lauri asking price is crazy
Agreed and so is the Nets for Mikal Bridges. If we’re being honest neither guy is worth 5 firsts because they’re 3rd options on contending basketball teams. Sixers can pay that stupid asking price. They just can’t pay the retarded asking price. Is anybody paying the retarded asking price though?
PG13 essentially forcing his way out and LA return would not be crazy like the Lauri asking price.
Sixers don’t need to give the Clippers anything.

You think they’re splitting 7.7m?
