I guess it depends on how much defense vs offense they want on the floor. They’re also linked to Hartenstein.

Dort is defense first obviously.

Caruso brings a bit more offensive skill.

Both can play heavy minutes in smaller lineups, or can be used situationally in big lineups.

Gives OKC a lot of options.

If Chicago is attempting to compete today it makes no sense, if they are thinking rebuild the trade is exactly what they need. A bet on a 21 year Olds high potential over the 30 year old that is ready to win now.

They could've/should've pulled more value is my issue. Plus, another PG option? That gives them 5 (again). Lonzo is coming back at some point this year, Coby White, Ayo (maybe a 2?), Carter. If he's a SG, they've got multiple options there too with LaVine, Terry, possibly DeRozan, etc. A lot of roster clean up is needed.

Really thought they would use Caruso as a trade sweetener to move LaVine's contract. Maybe they have a taker for LaVine without Caruso? I guess we'll see.

They are likely to hand Caruso a massive extension so I wouldn’t necessarily call it that. He isn’t a rental.

Yeah me calling it massive was an overstatement.

It is longer than you would ideally want for a player his age but the yearly isn't a roster construction killer.
