Yep, we shall see. The Lakers can't offer DeRozan a whole lot more unless James approves it or they move DRuss and some other contracts which looks like both are fading fast..

Well they just got a new coach so there is that. Developing Mobley bc JB did not do that.

They are going to give the new coach a chance with this group and if not, they will move Garland and/or Allen. So you might not think there is a plan but I am sure they have plan now, in one year and in two years. I think second tier in the east is close. They aren't a play-in team.
other than not developing Mobley agree with this 100% and that is likely the plan.

Is Mobley fully developed? Of course not. He's 22.

My guy…

There is this nifty thing that teams under the apron can do.

Which is what the Clippers are after rejecting that garbage return.

Buy 1st round draft picks.

Eating poo poo platters aren’t the only way to skin that cat.

No one has sold a first since govert was bought with a first

You can buy twos

Which…is a start

And they probably should’ve tried to do it ahead of time at the deadline this year since they could’ve done it then

But they’re not firsts

Right.

But he chose to opt out.

His choice.

Sure but the trade is effectively the same thing tax wise

And you’re back under in 2025

Honestly don’t remember.
Guy just chose on to stay for 3 years guaranteed and your thought was "OK, but now he might ask to be traded" and not in you to say you thought he'd walk when he could simply walk?

It seems like the line keeps getting moved from our original topic.

First it was that great players don't want to sign with small markets. - *we show recent examples*
But for how long? - *well 3 years*
But he could leave in one year and demand a trade - *ok but as long as they are contending and have a plan with a young team than Mitchell will believe in the plan. I mean he signed for a reason*
But they aren't better than the best of the east - *well Cleveland is still a young team. Boston has been through this process for what 7 seasons. It doesn't rebuilt in two seasons*

LOL

Did I say that?

No.

I said he might do that. Not that he would.

Why even say something like that right after he signed that contract? Seems you're just trying to make something outta nothing.

Spida ain't Dame. One of them demanded a trade.

No thanks.

Wiggins had 1 fire year in a otherwise disappointing career.

I’m depressed enough without having to watch him disappear for 82 games.

At least DJJ gives effort.

Now this shit is getting nuts. The dude hasn't even seen a minute of NBA action in the G-League or otherwise. They have lost their minds.

Did you read it?

Jalen Pickett signed a 4 year contract worth 8.2 mill with the Nuggets. 5.8 mill guaranteed so not a lot. He was also a 2nd round pick in the 2023 draft.

Undrafted players also get them as well.

I'm telling you he could extend again to get the benefit of being in league 10 seasons and we will just have to wait and see if a 3rd shoe drops.

In addition to building around their stars since before Lebron even left for LA when the Cs and Denver won many of their top players were in their prime. Of our top guys only Mitchell might be in his prime. Other 3 are anywhere from 1-6 years away.

would I like to see us ADD a player to help improve? Sure....but FA just started.

Most 2nd rounders are getting these deals.

it makes it easier to retain them if you hit on a good one.

That Arenas rule can really hamstring a team.

Right.

You almost lost Reaves because they didn’t give him a multi year deal.

right...and to be fair to Dame it was after being there a decade I believe. Mitchell has been here 2 and just chose to stay.
