Giants GM & Cashman with the same philosophy it seems
Giants have a legit catching prospect named Joey Bart who they no longer need with the emergence of Bailey (and Sabol). If he's still on the team after the deadline then our GM failed badly.

How about this for a deal:
Sonny Gray to the Reds for Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Dallas Keuchel comes up to fill the spot in the rotation.

when does the trade-deadline end today? is it midnight or some other arbitrary time?

I want to know when I can expect Verlander and Teoscar to be Guardians.

Joey Bart has been a prospect for freaking ever. How old is that guy? I feel he was hyped like over half a decade ago.

The Giants could have used Grichuk. They need a bat badly.
I am sure San Fran could get in on guys like Grichuk---- but I dont see them dealing Luciano. I doubt they deal Harrison- who's stock has fallen....outside of that really not much high value talent in their minros.

gotta say- Twins do have some pretty highly rated young bats--- none that are on a super star projection (which is often bullshit anyway)....but

Lee, Joulien, Wallner, Rodriguez, ------ guess i can see why they dealt Strand and Steer.

I have no clue why they tied so much money up in Correa considering their best prospect is a SS that looks like he can hit.

They can get a guy with Bart and Ramos and and one of their young bullpen guys like Winn or Beck

Lee doesnt really project to be a long term SS. Thats mostly why

Rodriquez I think may end up being a bust Id be ok trading him.

Lee, Julien, Wallner, AK are the future that would require major returns to trade.

what kind of bush league shit is this?

Yeah its been moved now to August 1st with no more waiver stuff.

And the timing pushed back a few hours it used to be like 3 pm. Not sure that matters much though.

guy is going to be 27 in December. I know he has (or had) a reputation as a solid defender but I cant imagine he has a whole lot of value at this point.....

Heliot Ramos was another guy who was a prospect who has lost a lot of luster.

Both are definitely no longer as hot as they used to be but both have value and should be dealt by tomorrow. Not for a big name, they aren't all that anymore.

Bart and Ramos coulda got Grichuk for example.
