No doubt the off season hasn’t worked out for Clowney liked he hoped.

It hasn't and it's to our benefit, so I hope we get something done.... We really need him back, a healthy Clowney is a massive upgrade for our already pretty bad defense....

It would be a blessing if the Seahawks could resign Clowney or at least Griffen. Not a lot of cap space left though and 6 teams still have over 30 million left. Browns have 46 million...

Me neither. And while Ifedi never really played to a 1st round level of ability, he was uncommonly dependable every week. We got angry with him about all the penalties, but he was available pretty much every game and definitely improved over the last season or 2. Continuity does matter on the OL moreso than maybe anywhere else, and we are likely replacing at least 2 and maybe 3 starters from '19 to '20.

He improved a bit on run blocking but his pass pro wasn't anything to write home about... He was very poor in that area...

Fant gets 10 mil per year for 3 years and Ifedi gets a 1yr deal rumored to be 6mi, along with moving him to RG pretty much tells the story of how the rest of the league viewed him...

Yeah thats how i viewed him also, A Guard playing out of position that had a chance to be a average guard in the NFL. Instead we got horrible right tackle play out of him after he showed he had a chance to be ok at guard. It made no sense to me at all.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I really love the trade for Quinton Dunbar. I know some of you might not be fans of PFF, but personally I think they do great work and I agree with them quite frequently and they graded Dunbar as the second best corner in the NFL in 2019.

I think our secondary looks a lot better going into 2020 than it did going into 2019.

I always felt like Ifedi should've been at RG and Fant at RT.

Jets are definitely taking a huge gamble on Fant though.

Here's the catch with Dunbar ( had to be a catch,,,right?)

His injury history is indisputable. Even if he only plays 8 games in 2020 at the level he played in 2019, it's definitely worth a 5th round pick IMO.

My biggest concern is that he lost time in 2018 with a "leg injury" and his season ended in 2019 with a hamstring injury.

They definitely are... He got paid off upside... Bears didn't show too much faith in GI..

I'm happy enough with the trade. Low risk, high reward type trade. Had to be a reason for the cheap price tag though and the injuries issue is the reason.

I don't understand how Clowney could wait, or hold out, into training camp like the article suggests. If he's a free agent and he's not signed to a team then what training camp would he be attending? I mean, he's technically not on any team at the moment? Or do I have that wrong?
He won't be attending training camp if he's not sign, thus the holding out into the start of training camps for NFL teams. The media has put out that not being able to have a physical has held back teams from handing over the money he wants. IDK about that myself, think it's the fact that he doesn't get a lot of sacks that is the reason.

That adds about 5 million in cap space. Dickson was getting cut no matter what. Could be a prelude to signing Clowney in theory, but not going to assume that myself as these cuts most likely happen regardless.

Definitely... It's also going to take a few restructuring of contracts or one of Britt/KJ being released...

Same here. Can't wait on Clowney to come to his senses much longer IMO. Either sign or the Seahawks go to plan B.

Yep... Rumors are he could wait this out till TC... Hawks will move on... We need to get something done before the draft... Signing a DE prior will change our draft strategy quite a bit...
