Just have to call one thing I noticed today....the red card on Aus....sure didn’t look like it to me. Yes, she impeded the player on a break for goal. But, it sure looked more incidental than a blatant pull down. They got tangled more than anything.

Didn’t matter of course since Aus couldn’t hit the PKs, but that stood out as horseshit to me.

Sam Kerr got a lot of buzz this time around. I think she backs up that buzz much more completely in 4 years.

Yeah, VAR has certainly been a story thus far in the tourney. Canada and the US have games tomorrow. Canada vs. Sweden in the later game and US/Spain in an early game.

Brazil definitely made it closer than I thought... Truth is we are seeing much more parity in the top 10 than we've seen in the past... That, at least, is a good thing.

Apparently Spain is a possession team, but they'll have to be on their A game to have a shot today, I think...

Agreed. Very tactical team with the ball. I'm guessing things could get very boring today if they stick with that approach to this game. US needs to score early & not let them control the pace.

Defense is barely hanging on today. They are getting the ball cleared to the midfielders ok, but kudos to Spain. Their attackers are really good at ball control in tight windows.

Offense needs to get better ball placement. Feels like they have very little control. Rapinoe keeps losing the ball and its costing them opportunities.

Well....that’s what nervous feels like. It’s been a while. Spain does as Spain does.....they did a pretty good job of holding some possession. Their front line has broken us down some. The warts show in that.

Hopefully some good adjustments made at half. How about work to get Alex the ball more. She is getting the shit beat out of her....at least get some close fouls if she has the ball. I’m also good with seeing Lavale and Heath bring the ball up. Rapinoes touch still doesn’t feel there.

Ugly give away there by the US to let Spain even up the score... Major brain fart... You don't pass to a player like that and said player must get rid of the ball quicker... Great way to start the match however!

Also, having a very difficult time getting the ball to Morgan (who can't be healthy). Heath on the right side has done damage.. Need to keep that up
