I am really getting geeked up on the hype for this. Shame the draws work out the way they do. This should be the Final, if both teams got to that point.

Also....I am wishing the game was Saturday or Sunday lol

Whoever did the draw needs to be fired and shipped out to sea

I'll be switching back and forth between this and Copa America, Venezuela v Argentina, also at 3:00 pm.

Interesting matchup. Go Venezuela all the way!!

If it’s like the men’s cup potting (likely) then it’s supposed to be like the old NBA lottery (ping pong balls) or something like that. I’ve never trusted FIFA on that. But maybe this adds some credence.

You know France is in Group A no matter. Why not make sure the US is on the other side of the bracket if you are tinkering with it.

Unless it’s a false flag....nah....they aren’t that clever.

Well, they do have the USA (1) and Germany (2) in opposite brackets.

Though, I think if they are doing anything, they are trying to make it tougher on the US. USA (1), England (3), and France(4) all in the same side of the bracket.

That’s a good point. It’s likely less to do with the potting process and more to do with the rankings....which have never been beyond reproach.

That said....I couldn’t see France at 2...even if they might be bumped up by the home field. France-Germany would also be an intriguing match.

Not to look ahead....but England looked damn good against Norway. Form and execution were solid and scary.

That said....I’ve not seen such a strong goalie performance in such a blown out game in a long time (if that makes any sense). Norwegian goalie had some solid stops later in the game.

Not that anyone was stopping that absolute screamer that was the third goal. Wow.

What is this nonsense about Horan not starting today? Are we trying to lose? It's ths same line up that played like crap against Spain. You really couldn't have put in Horan or Press or done literally anything else?

Only thing I can think of is still protecting her for later since she carries a yellow?

It would be a mistake to look past France.

Ok. More thought. Ellis clearly sees that defense better than the rest of us and wants Mewis’ speed on the attack over Horans defense.

Also....Mewis is very tall and could be seen as a needed piece in set pieces due to Renard.

All that said....it’s still puzzling.

I don't like it when the ESPN mediots are acting like this game is in the bag.

Granted, I know sh*t about soccer...but seems like they're setting up for the big time clickage ie how could we possibly lose for after the match.

ESPN commentators for soccer usually suck regardless of whether it’s mens or women’s games.

Big fan of Mewis. Her first touch was a one time ball that released Rapinoe. She’s got the great passing you want out of a midfielder.

I am a big fan as well. As long as this defense can play like they have for 28 minutes and Mewis can show her form than I dont mind her in for Horan.

But I am getting short on breath every time France gets in the final 1/3.

First set piece by France....phew
