I’ve started making fanposts on MHR. Here’s my latest:

Super Bowl LIII Validates Broncos Head Coach Pick

Very nice iknowftbll. I completely agree.

The Broncos are probably not going to be able to win a shootout with Kansas City in the next couple of years, but the defense with Vic running the show should be able to limit their offense to keep them in the game and if the offense can be reasonably productive be able to potentially win some of those matchups.

I agree and great write up.

I agree too early to say were this hire heads for sure but yes D minded wins plenty of games.

What I like is all those points this year and yet 6 points really won the SB.
Bolds well for our team this next year.

One of the best OL coaches. With an OL that was playing better the 2nd half of the season. A running game that should be the deadliest in the NFL. Hold points down and burning time out on the clock

One of the better DC's in our head coach that IMO showed the NE patriots how to win the SB.

So Nick and I got to have Benjamin Allbright on our podcast yesterday. He had some real gems.

1) Case Keenum is expected to stick with the Broncos.
2) Nick Foles is not as beloved around the league as many think. The QB that could get a lot of attention if he hits the market is Tannehill
3) Right now he does not expect the Broncos to keep Paradis. The two are very far apart in contract negotiations and Paradis doesn't exactly want to talk to the Broncos right now because he felt so disrespected by their first offer.
4) Sam Jones is getting a lot of praise from the training staff.
5) If CJ Mosley hits the market he expected the Broncos to make a huge push. Same with Amos of the Bears and James of the Dolphins.
6) Emmanuel Sanders has been talked about as a trade piece. The 49ers are the team to watch out for as they are trying to trade for Antonio but if they can't get a deal done with the Steelers then Sanders is their backup option and could be a part of a draft day trade for the Broncos to move up and get Lock.

In free agency I expect we will add some pieces as Elway doesn't like going into the draft with needs and I expect a splash. I could see the following players being on the radar:
Landon Collins - He would be a great play maker to the back end of the defense which was inconsistent at best.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix - He played pretty well and would be another young piece to the back end of the the defense.

Tyrann Mathieu - A dynamic player but there seems to be something that teams don't like.

C.J. Mosley - Would be a great addition to our LB core. Chubb, Miller and Mosley would be awesome.

Golden Tate - Would be a reasonable replacement if we part ways with Sanders.

Ronald Darby - If we let Roby walk, and don't believe Yiadom is not ready for a starting spot.

Bryce Callahan - Knows Fangio's system and could help teach to the other DBs.

Adrian Amos - See Callahan

Ja'Wuan James - We have had interest in the past.

I’ve been curious what your assessment on Lock is. You are far more knowledgeable of the draft and the prospects than I am. But the more I learn the more I consider Lock to be a good option if he’s available at 10. Not sure how I feel about trading up for him.

If he is there at 10 and considered the BPA with the extra weight on the QB position then I am ok. If we are going to trade up to draft him and mortgage the future. I am not a fan of trading a lot of picks or players to move, but realize at some point we will probably have to.

I’m in a similar place with Lock. I think there is enough there to take him at 10, but not sure I want to trade all the picks it’ll take to move up.

I'm thinking it will only cost a 2nd rounder - with a swap in positions from 3 to 10 - you are only paying for seven spaces. Since last year's crop of rookies was good - the Broncos should be able to give up a 2nd if it gets them a QB who can do the job. Haskins - has only 14 starts - so the teams that need him right away - won't trade up for him (it depresses his value). The Broncos - however - have Case Keenum for this year.

Again - going back to the future - this is how Elway came into the league - he sat mostly his first season - behind Morton (old, crippled Morton).

I think the argument can be made, but also think it’s a waste of time. Allen isn’t available, Lock is!

I would say he is much more prepared to be an NFL QB than Allen was last year.

If Lock was about the same as Allen and Elway passed on Allen last year it would lead one to believe Elway may pass on Lock this year.

If you buy that they are the same, perhaps. But it’s two different years so that changes the dynamic because priorities change one season to the next. Also I don’t know if I buy the argument they’re about the same. Lock has played against much better competition than Allen had to face.

I am not saying they are the same.

Last year my favorite 2 QBs were Mayfield and Allen.

Mayfield and Darnold here. At no point was I sold on Allen. But I feel like these draft picks are all such a crap shoot. I like who we got at 5 last year. If Lock is there at 10 I think he’d be a good fit.

Qb at 10 would be OK

Trading up and giving up a high 2 for one of these Qb not so good.

Based on what the Jets gave up to move up from 6 to 3 last year it will cost us much more then our second. The Jets sent #6, #37, and #49 in 2018 plus their 2019 2nd rounder. That is a lot of picks to move up 3 spots. Depending no how high we need to move up we would be looking at #10 and two 2nds and a 3rd as a starting point. Is Drew Lock worth not having 3 other prospects? He is if we are sure he is going to be the stating QB here for the next 10 years and be able to keep the offense relevant. I am not sure we can say any prospect is going is that type of impact player with complete certainty, especially at the QB position. The closest QB prospect that might be that player would be Lawrence in 2021.

Once you place your bare reputation on a hot Osweiler - you are very careful not to make that mistake again.

With Paxton Lynch being the second kick of the mule in Elway's education.

I bet it costs more then this to move up to 3. A 2nd would get you to 5 probably.

#6 has me scratching my head based on history of Achilles injuries and rehab. Going be hard to trade him in May if he can't pass a physical.
