Cut Leary and sign Paradise

Leary is not a leader Matt is.
Leary is a slightly above average Guard that doesn't need to be a leader. The Center is typically the leader of an OL, and as you pointed out, Paradis was it. OL took a huge dump after Paradis headed to IR. McGovern was a decent Guard but sucked filling in at Center.

Broncos blocking teams from interviewing Gary Kubiak for OC openings.

As they wait to fill their head-coaching vacancy, the Denver Broncos have blocked other teams from trying to hire away former head coach Gary Kubiak as an offensive coordinator, league sources told ESPN.

Sources: Steelers' Munchak interested in Broncos
Professional and family ties have made the Broncos' head-coaching job one of strong interest for Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Both the Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals have requested permission to interview Kubiak, who currently works as a senior personnel adviser with the Broncos, for their offensive coordinator jobs.

But Denver plans to keep Kubiak, according to sources, and would like him to work with whomever the Broncos hire as their next head coach, if that hire is open to that arrangement.

Kubiak is considered one of the top offensive coordinator candidates around the league. He still is under contract with Denver, and the Broncos can deny him from leaving.

Kubiak would like to stay in Denver anyway, sources said.

Kubiak, 57, went 21-11 in two seasons as the Broncos' head coach and guided Denver to a victory in Super Bowl 50. He stepped away from coaching after the 2016 season,

Well, Elway stated that he wants Gary on staff be it OC or what he did for him last year.

They are good friends Elway likes working with him.

From what I read the rest of staff can look.

A head coach should not have any assists forced upon them. Gary can be an option, but is he really something a new head man is going to want? Creates too much potential for the head coach to be undermined by his OC.

So if you are saying he is strapping the next head coach I have yet to see that stated anywere.

If the head coach wants to bring in his OC Kubiak will help Elway.

I would add Kubiak is a proud man. Also, damn nice he would never force anyone to do something they don't want.

I don’t like the idea of any team standing in the way of someone getting a new opportunity. It is then up to the person if they choose to pursue that option.

Last Week Elway stated that he fully expects Kubiak to be on staff either as what he did last year or if the coach wants OC that will be up to him.

Elway and Kubiak had one hell of a draft what is all the whining about ??????????????

Bottom line: You don't hire a new coach with stipulations of who needs to be on his staff. Al Davis used to pull that shit and it scared a lot of candidates away. Kubiak can stay in the front office and work on the draft with John. The NFL is moving away from the Kubiak style of offense anyways.

The deal is Kubiak IMO has real talent picking out RB Return men WR even OL. Some will talk shit about Trevor but look at the round he was picked. He has a good eye for QB's as well.

QB's have their best years with Kubiak about the only one that did not was Manning.

When Gary went to Houston they were crap with there OL.

I have plenty of friends that I could never work with. Elway went on somewhat of a limb and took a chance on Vance. It blew up in his face. He's now looking for the safest, most familiar hire he can find. And while I'm not necessarily opposed to bringing in a guy like Munchak, I do fear Elway's failure to adapt is going to hurt.

I'm with Carson (and others). You don't foist a coach on an incoming head coach. And even if it was, there's a better way to handle it than how Elway has done over the past few years.

Elway has stated that Vance needed to hire his own guys in year two, and has stated that he wants to bring in some of the RPO college offense.

Hiring Kubiak prior to a HC does neither.
