I just read that Mitch Marner may get a 10 million per bridge deal. What does that do for us?

Gives us an opportunity to laugh at the Leafs!

I don't see how the Leafs agree to a $10M bridge deal. There's no incentive for them to do that. The whole point of the bridge is to get the guy on a less expensive cap hit; by giving the player the opportunity to make bank on his next contract, in the relatively short term future. Marner is asking for the best of both.

I'm sure it's just negotiating though. The Leafs don't have the cap space to sign Marner to a big deal, long term. They'll probably try to get him at like $7M for 3 years. The other alternative would be a 7-8 year deal for 11-12M, but I don't think they can afford that.

Lets say the settle on 8.5 million for a bridge deal. How would that affect us?

If you're a Browns fan you have a lot to look forward to this year. The team is stacked, maybe us Rams fans will see you in the Super bowl.
We’re talking the CLEVELAND Browns. Will be looking for the 55th year of disappointment.

There’s a 5 year waitlist to have Browns as pallbearers. Getting let down one last time.

I don't think it has a huge impact. The Flyers don't have a Marner-level guy at this point. I think he's a rare enough case that he wouldn't even really impact Konecny's negotiations.

Would you do a TK and Prov for Marner and a pick ?

For those of you complaining about the Flyers acquiring aging vets who may or may not block the development of a few young players, you need to keep in mind that Fletcher was given a mandate to improve the quality of the team on the ice THIS SEASON as a result of the large ticket price increase that went into effect. Considering that fact, I like what he did in terms of not blocking youth longer term.

I wouldn't. IMO, the Flyers need Provorov and need him to be a #1 dman. Plus I think D is a more important position than W.

I'd love to have Marner though. Always hard to acquire a superstar though.

Then he failed at his mandate because signing a 32 year old Braun does not improve the quality of the team THIS SEASON over Hagg.

Based on what evidence, las? Hagg was garbage from December on and I doubt you’ve ever even really watched Braun.
