I don't even want to imagine how poorly the postseason would have gone for the Rangers this year.
Let me try again. Sorry I was not clear. My thought was not to say we would have won anything. If most of the lost saves were divided evenly among the rotation, the w vs l would look much different. Now throw in risp failures and you get a much broader scope of evaluations. Seems to me it was much more little things to be considered which might be a better way to go than throwing $$$$ at pitching when we may be better than thought. Basicly Hamel Perez and Cashner imo fit pretty well and pick up Yu or Ohtani and fix avg.obp and risp and play ball. Basic evaluation is my point and not just seeing how much to spend on pitching.I think this is called a nightmare.
Hey DT sorry have not checked up on you to see how you are doing. So how are you doing?I propose that negative comments be banished and "pesky"be removed from the baseball dictionary forever.
Coming along ok but slow. Thank you.Hey DT sorry have not checked up on you to see how you are doing. So how are you doing?

Sounds like Banister has been reading our board
you still need guys in minors who at least project to pitch in majors this coming year.
Mendez would have to make some very big improvements over the winter to even be considered as anything other than an emergency big league starter I would think. If Rangers and Bush are committed to him starting then he is a number 5 slot with AJ and nick as minor/long reliever options to pitch in case of injury. That means you only have to pick up 2 major league starters but to me you still need guys in minors who at least project to pitch in majors this coming year.
So really what we need is to have a list of 10 guys on the 40 man or at least ready for activation if needed. Guys like Dutch will be picked up for at least depth.

Not putting words into his mouth, but I think he was implying that we need to pick up some minor league pitchers along the way somehow.if I'm not mistaken, the Rangers do not have any.
Certainly worth a look.
Good moves. imotrimming the fat

We should have had Sadzeck, Mendez and Jurado all ready to project into the rotation, but our development of starting pitchers is lacking in a big way. I think some of those guys in charge of that should have been replaced before our bullpen coach actually.
