Browns released OLB Paul Kruger.

Kruger started the third preseason game and played extensively with the first-team defense, so this is a shocking cut. Usage contributed to Kruger recording his lowest sack total since 2010 last season, but he was expected to bounce back in new DC Ray Horton's scheme. With plenty of teams desperate for pass rushers, Kruger should not be on the street long.

Saw this earlier, Kruger had 2-2.5 sacks last year and had a huge price tag. Don't think the Boys will be in play however

I saw Quinton Coples got released. Not much production, but was a 1st round pick with great tools

Guys with 15 sacks don't get released!!! I don't think I really saw him play much last year, but I thought I remembered they didn't play him full time. Obviously a team that signs him thinks he would get more than 2.5 sacks (he had 11 the year before), but it is kind of funny that if he were on our week 1 roster he'd be the guy with the 3rd most sacks from the prior year!!! Also, no one is going to sign him if it comes with "a "huge price tag"

By the way, I'm not pushing for Coples or Kruger. But when we bring guys in off the street at DL you certainly better at least take a look at the players that have played meaningful snaps for an NFL team in the past too...

If we sign either, I think it will be after week one. I don't think the club is gonna want to guarantee the salary of a guy that just got cut(unless it's a QB or a talented cap casualty), but we will need another body till DLaw gets back

If we sign either or anyone else cut it will be for a small contract so I'm not sure we will worry about the guaranteed week 1 rule. Plus as you stated for DL the most important weeks for anyone we bring in will be weeks 1-4. So we will do whatever it takes to get the best team on the field for those weeks. Whether Coples, Kruger or any other cut player fits that bill or not...I have no clue

No...... i get it, just saying, we didnt go hard after Foles even as a strong position of need, so I just don't see the Cowboys really going after a guy like Kruger. I could very well be wrong again however

I read (may have been on here?) Foles only wanted to play for Reid. Also, I'm not sure what going after him hard means, but we went after him. We didn't want to overpay him and we were right not to do so and we won't overpay anyone else that we sign at this point. But we will be kicking a lot of tires in the next week and especially on defense.

Practice Update: Lee Sitting Out With Knee
Injury:hope:

FRISCO, Texas – Sean Lee is out of practice with a knee problem, though Cowboys coach Jason Garrett doesn’t think it’s a long-lasting issue.

“Sean’s dealing with a knee injury. He hasn’t practiced the last couple days,” Garrett said Tuesday morning. “We don’t think it’s long-term. He’s making progress to come back, and hopefully he’s going to be able to do that – sooner rather than later.”

Lee has suited up for practice each of the last two days, but he has mainly worked on his own on conditioning. During the open portion of Tuesday’s practice,he left the field to work in the team’s weight room.

“If he practices, it’ll be on a limited basis,” Garrett said.

Lee missed the entire offseason program after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his knee. Garrett said he wasn’t sure if the current injury was related to that procedure.

I saw that about Reid but I'm not so sure I'm putting any stock in that. Means if he wasn't signed by the Chiefs, he'd rather not play football this year for any other team? Not saying thats what you are saying, but thats what I was thinking when I saw it.

I don't think the 1.8 mill he was paid was really an over pay for him as Romo's backup, with Dak being the unknown at the time. Now that Dak is being paid this year as a temporary/perm starter at a 4th round picks salary one might consider 1.8 as an overpay, but realistically it would have been somewhat inexpensive, if he ended up starting 8 games or something

that's what KC agreed to with him. Maybe he was asking us for $3M per?

Guess I will put this here since the schedule was made in the offseason

2016 NFL Strength of Schedule – Based on Vegas SB Odds
Nate Bouda 1 hour ago NFLTR Features 10 Comments

Here’s a look at the 2016 NFL Strength of Schedule based on their opponent’s odds of winning the Super Bowl.

While not perfect, basing Strength of Schedule on Vegas Super Bowl odds helps to account for the roster changes that occurred during the offseason and preseason, instead of just focusing on the 2015 win percentage of each team’s opponents.

  • The Super Bowl odds were provided by Bovada.lv
  • 1” is the hardest schedule and “32” is the easiest schedule
  • “Avg. Opp. SB Odds” is the average opponent Super Bowl odds ranked from 1-32. For example: If a team’s “Avg. Opp. SB Odds” is 14, this means it’s the equivalent to playing the 14th best team over the course of a full season. You can seen how tight S.O.S is between No. 1 – 32, so a few good/bad match ups can really swing things quite a bit.
