I don't see how picking up Zimmerman for one season will help us. He woud cost us 2-3 very good prospects as well. In 2010 or 2011 a pitcher like that would have been huge, but we are not at that point again yet. Hopefully we will have grown our own by the time we are at that point again.
Cost is always a concern. Depends on how many prospects and who . May be a good opportunity to get back in the race. Gotta start some where.

hearing that we may be in on Jordan Zimmerman, what do you think?

If you're referring to this, I think you mis-read it. Either way I think Fister would be much more likely.

It’s hard to tell whether the Nationals are serious about trading Jordan Zimmermann because they have the resources to sign him and he’s their best pitcher. “It doesn’t hurt to listen,” said one NL executive about GM Mike Rizzo’s strategy. “If you get overwhelmed, you do it. If you don’t, you keep him. Pretty simple, actually.” Cafardo writes that the Red Sox, Rangers, and Cubs seem to have the pieces to get a deal done.

The market for Kendrys Morales has been quiet to date with only the Indians being linked to the free agent DH. Heyman tweets, besides Cleveland, the Rangers and Royals are also taking a look at Morales while the Mariners and Blue Jays are possibilities, as well.

I could actually see this happening since he didn't get A QO.

Elvis, though, is a different story. He needs to show it this year under his new coach or that contract is going to be one of the worst. I'm hoping he just got complacent under Wash, but I think this is who Elvis is.

That really is the only contract I'm worried about.

Let's wait and see how they perform when healthy before we mark it down as a terrible off-season.
I think we may be well plz'd with a piece or two.

We are referring to Refugees post about our 2013 off-season. I think JD pulls a few pleasing moves this year.
Understand 2013 and was responding to your comment to wait and see how it turns out. May be a nice surprise with a couple of pieces.

The part that is key is that they have to be overwhelmed. I don't want to overwhelm them for a rent a pitcher. I plan on being a fan for several years and not just in 2015 so I don't want to overwhelm anyone in a trade.

Not unless it's for a guy that is controllable for the foreseeable future.
