Not surprising he wasn't very good this year, range is severely diminished in recent years

He was pretty damn good this year with the glove. It was not his best work ever but for his age the type of season he put up defensively is impressive.

It just wasn't gold glove worthy, and thats even if the award actually went to the best defender and wasn't the sham job it is today

I'd probably have him behind Donaldson and Seager in the AL this year, and behind Machado if he was healthy

BUT it seems they do a much better than in recent years

At least all these guys were above average defenders unlike the Jeter years, Jeter only ever had ONE season that was even close to Gold Glove worthy

MY even won a gold glove and if I remember it was at 3rd. It can be a bunch of nonsense. I saw Miggy was a runner up at 1st. I did not think he was all that great either but I do not see him enough to say.
