That would be a tough call. I hated facing that guy because he just seemed to put good wood on the ball and he has such a good eye at the plate. Would love to have his offense. But I can see where you are coming from.

Hopefully we can get some winter league results when he is able to pitch again. What is usually the time frame between throwing on a mound and throwing in a game, 3-4 weeks?

I'm sure it depends on the results and the injury, but that seems like a reasonable time frame.

I certainly don't want Hunter here. After he said his son would be embarrassed for him to play here a few years ago I don't want him here.

In fairness to the guy who wrote the article, he stated as much. He said last season he got less than 70% correct. But he also said, "isn't this fun being GM for a few months?"

I don't recall this quote from Hunter. But if true, then screw him.

If I thought he'd sign for that, I'd ink him immediately.

But I suspect he'll get at least this much, if not considerably more. Do keep in mind this is a fairly weak year to try and land a terrific bat, and he's by far the best one out there.

They probably just looked at the whole body work and said he's a good pitcher that may have just had one shitty stretch here and that next season will be back to his normal type.

You may be right. But for $7 mil, and looking at the way he pitched from the time he got there, through the post season, he looked awful.

$7 mil is a lot of faith.

Honestly, I like the guy and hope he bounces back.
