I hope Rua and Smolinski make the opening day roster. I am not excited to see Ludwick or DeShields out there. I think they both Rua and Smolinski deserve it and we could get them in the lineup plenty. Since many do not expect great things out of the Rangers this year and Smolinski was not a projected star on the horizon I say let these guys keep getting experience at the MLB level. I think they can handle it.

like amaro would do that

He is an idiot so there is no telling what he might do. I know they need prospects in a bad way and he has admitted the team is going nowhere this year and he has much to do with that. Any common sense fan could see this team was getting very old and not restocking with youth and now it has caught up with them.

Any reason Beimel should stay in camp?

The guy was great last year which is why I was hoping we would pick him up. Not sure what is going on with him this ST.

Doesn't appear Odubel will be headed back anytime soon.

Fraley doesn't have the story completely accurate; the incident began during the at-bat and continued after the strikeout.

Fraley doesn't have the story right???

Always a reason to debate, because why not?

Other than Nelson Cruz being added to Seattle and the Angels trading Kendrick what did the Mariners do to close the gap?

Cruz won't repeat what he did last year playing in Seattle. No player has been able to do that in Safeco.

They were middle of the road offensively and their starters while they are good I don't know about best in baseball. Felix and Iwakuma are a great 1 2 but 3-5 aren't quite there unless Paxton and Walker make huge step forward this year.

I don't see Seattle winning the division unless the Angels pitching staff is hit with injuries again, and even so they won 98 last year.

I think thats the thing, they have many players that could be expected to rebound or take the next step this year

I don't think Walker comes in until possibly later in the year, but I believe Paxton proves to be a strong rotation piece for them this year. He was making good progress before his injury last season. Seattle is improving, not sure they win the division this year but they may make it interesting down the stretch.

Evan Grant says Kela scheduled to pitch today and tomorrow. Seems to think he has a real shot at breaking camp on the 25-man.

Also, he mentioned that Odor is the youngest player in camp. I guess I didn't fully grasp how young he is, and that makes his 2014 even more impressive to me.

Hoping Kela has good outings and makes the big club.

Yeah Odor is just a pup and he has hit pretty well in camp so far too
