Self-proclaimed Asshole
Cannot believe they're putting Jeter in the same category as Bench, Griffey, Aaron, and Jackson. What a joke.
What the fuck is Martin's problem? There is no excuse for being thrown out as much as he has this spring. That ball was damn near in the dirt and he still was thrown out by 7 feet.
Not able to watch the game.....give me/us your take on why.
Is HE being too conservative? Is the team/1st base coach pulling the reins?
Yes sir, that is why we took a flyer. That and his Dad being Delino Deshields was a pretty good ballplayer. Don't know how far that will take him once he's made it to this stage though.
I was just busting your chops a bit too, Don.
Sounds like the kid thinks he's entitled carrying the same name as his dad. HOU may have 'taken the flyer' on his name and speed ... and rode that all the way to not protecting him in the Rule 5 draft. Way I see it ... Rule 5s have to blow camp away and show off that they aren't #25 on the roster.
Would like seeing Hoying, Rua and Smolinski on the roster. I think that roster would do as well if not better and would be lots more enjoyable to watch for me than one stocked with one year contract COF veterans.
Return of the RISP syndrome. We get em' on and they get em' out.I know "it's Spring Training" and all that, but from Friday through today so far, the Rangers have been outscored 46-15. That is abysmal.
Cannot believe they're putting Jeter in the same category as Bench, Griffey, Aaron, and Jackson. What a joke.
Nice oneNot sure how it looked live, but via Gameday it seemed that Feliz had a very efficient inning.

It looked like he didn't throw 1 pitch over 92 MPH, and he only threw 1 over 91.
That gun seemed slow to me.
That's possible, but Kela was hitting 95-96.
Doesn't he typically sit at 97+ and run it up to 100?
I'm still not very thrilled with Feliz sitting at 93. He doesn't have the command or off-speed.
Found this:
The edges are what make closers. And Keone is most certainly that. One day during Spring Training in 2013, I asked him if he wanted to be a closer. A calm and quiet "Fuck yeah." was his response. (While he earned high-marks from me for his response, he's since all but eliminated his cussing...at least in front of reporters.) That shows in his mound demeanor. I asked Jerad Eickhoff what it was like to have Keone come in to close a game he'd started and he said, "You definitely get a sense of the intensity. He's got a plus fastball and a hard curve to compliment it and I like a guy who goes out there like he does and says, 'here it is, try and hit it'." Confidence is a requisite of the job. So is stuff, and Keone has that as well. A fastball with some life that comfortably sits 95-98mph, and touched 100 on a few occasions, is balanced with a breaking ball that flops in around 83mph.
I think Gallardo was sitting at 92 today and that's normal for him, I think. You could be right. If it was down 2 ticks I'm still not very thrilled with Feliz sitting at 93. He doesn't have the command or off-speed.
