Carl Lewis could run as well, but he couldn't hit a baseball either

But you do know this is why we took a flyer on him, right?

Honestly, I don't think I've ever set eyes on the guy, so I'm kind of clueless as to what he brings to the party; other than the already stated "speed."

I sure wish I could watch a little of today's contest. I'm getting that "Moe-Larry Cheese" feeling at this point.

Yes sir, that is why we took a flyer. That and his Dad being Delino Deshields was a pretty good ballplayer. Don't know how far that will take him once he's made it to this stage though.

I was just busting your chops a bit too, Don.:suds:

Always a reason to debate, because why not?

Other than Nelson Cruz being added to Seattle and the Angels trading Kendrick what did the Mariners do to close the gap?

Cruz won't repeat what he did last year playing in Seattle. No player has been able to do that in Safeco.

They were middle of the road offensively and their starters while they are good I don't know about best in baseball. Felix and Iwakuma are a great 1 2 but 3-5 aren't quite there unless Paxton and Walker make huge step forward this year.

I don't see Seattle winning the division unless the Angels pitching staff is hit with injuries again, and even so they won 98 last year.

They also have Elias who is a very promising starter.

If Mitch could ever stay healthy I really think he'd give solid production.

Good work from Elvis and Mitch. Blanks won't be with the club anyways.

Kyle needs a couple high and tight for a bit of an attitude adjustment

Yes he does. He is way too comfortable at the plate facing our pitchers. He digs in every time. Get him off that damn plate.

What the fuck is Martin's problem? There is no excuse for being thrown out as much as he has this spring. That ball was damn near in the dirt and he still was thrown out by 7 feet.

Rangers are flat out beating themselves in this one. Martin needs to get his base stealing shit together.

Hahahaha.....I gladly accept your toast sir.

Maybe we all have that, "soft spot" for a chance taken and rewarded opportunity.

So when JD & Co goes searching, I kind of like it, and even give some slack in the process as well.

They didn't grade his makeup though. Could be a 30.

Quite probably is, in all honesty.

But hey, ya know, when you take a chance, and it comes through, MAN that's a terrific feeling from both a personal and professional perspective.
