I'd really like to see Peguero make the club. They guy is a good hitter. I just don't know that he will because I think Rua and Smolinski make the team. Neither of them play CF and neither does Peguero.

The thing with Peguero is -- he always hits in Spring Training/AAA. Its just when it comes time to do it in the majors -- he falls flat on his face.

I really hope he knows Watkins is a tool and does not represent the fan base.

Well Watkins is no longer an issue -- so hopefully the filth can be cut down to a minimum. (I'm looking @ you Galloway).

Watkins has been banished to the hinder-lands, and Randy has been put-out-to-pasture. So I think we're good at this point.

I was never a fan of Calvin. But there was a time when I truly enjoyed Galloway's column and radio show. The he turned into just and angry, bitter old fart and ruined it for everyone.

I am ready for TEX to part ways with Adam Rosales. If he's the best UIF and bats .200 better to carry another corner bat and just wing it. Rua can play the middle if he had to. Rosales isn't worth the roster spot ... course I think we (and OAK) have known this now for two years at least.

Signed a minor league deal and was sent to minor league camp, he's a decent defender but Tyler has no power and is about a .240 guy. That would be an improvement to Rosales' production probably.

Don't expect a UIF to be hitting .280+ or else he'd already be someones starting middle IF. Rosales is steady and knows his role and can play all four positions if need be. His 2014 .262/.328/.378/.706 was his best since 2010 for OAK in 80 games. Rosales is a safe roster move but TEX ought to be higher risk in 2015 and see what happens.

I don't think Pastornicky is enough of a plus up over Rosales. If he was seen as a quality UIF ATL would still have him in camp after he was on its roster last year.

Rua doesn't play SS

Actually, RUA was drafted as a SS and has 11 games there in the minors ... but its not material to my point. UIF is pretty much a wasted offensive roster spot. So go high risk and add another corner bat and roll the dice to open the season that you don't need a UIF for awhile. Let Rua be the emergency UIF.

jta...........I would prefer him to Rosales, he'd only be asked to play on occasion to spell Andrus

According to what I just heard, his glove is terrific, and his best position is SS. But unfortunately, he can't hit home plate with his helmet it seems.

That's a simple decision, IMO.

"If the Rangers decide they can only carry one optionable piece to start the year, it might well be Kela, the star of camp, who goes to the minors. He’s not on the 40-man roster and finding room could be difficult. Also, it might make sense to have him close games in Round Rock early in case Feliz falters."

This would be why he doesn't make it right out the gate

Naw....not really, to be perfectly honest about it.

Did discuss the new guy (Pastornicky) at length on his strong/shortcomings. But everything else wasn't anything you pretty much didn't know/hasn't been bantered here already.

Oh, by the way, did you know Kirkman had been released. Sorry, I'm being a jerk to another poster.
