I am ready for TEX to part ways with Adam Rosales. If he's the best UIF and bats .200 better to carry another corner bat and just wing it. Rua can play the middle if he had to. Rosales isn't worth the roster spot ... course I think we (and OAK) have known this now for two years at least.

Now that's a very good thought. Makes sense to me.

I like his idea that it would be better to only keep one of Rua and Smolinski. I think they both need to play almost everyday. I like Hoying as an outfielder and he could play CF. Why Evan doesn't see that is beyond me.

I wonder if we'll have any interest in Mijares? The Reds just released him and I know they aren't comfortable with Claudio as the only lefty.

Joe Beimel was released. Now it really is only Claudio. That's scray. Trade or signing has to be coming.

Seems we are OF heavy. At this point the best choice is deciding who can best back up CF. Peguero and Hoying are the best candidates. Take your pick but look for Rua and Smolinski to be here. I'm not comfortable with Choo staying healthy.

I wonder why they don't give Edwar Cabrera more chances to prove what he can do since they are so short of leftys in the pen. Martire Garcia and Cabrera both have good numbers in a very limited amount of opportunities so far this spring.

Manager Jeff Banister said the Rangers will continue to proceed with the idea that Gallo is a third baseman and praised improvements he’s made in his defensive setup as camp has progressed. But, Banister said, Gallo will also receive some outfield instruction as he did during the Fall Instructional League. There are no plans for him to play outfield in the game at this point.

When asked if Gallo could be a consideration for the major league roster if starting third baseman if Adrian Beltre suffered an injury, Banister didn’t completely rule it out, but seemed to downplay the idea.

“We’d have to take into account where Joey is and how he is playing,” Banister said.
