Not to mention the total ape shit the Giants went in condemning the guy and bitching to the league...don't remember his name but was it Craig Counsel? I understand Posey is their guy and their superstar but that was just an unfortunate play that resulted in the way it did.

Just added color and didn't accomplish a thing except some fans are often amused by it.

I just don't see how replay getting rid of the arguments is anything but good. Keeps players and managers from being tossed as much too.

Just throwing my hat into the ring here... fully against an actual timer of any kind in baseball at any level. There are umpires for a reason. If you want to change the rules (or just enforce the ones already in existence) to speed up the game then I'm amenable to that.

But a clock? Absolutely not. Baseball is a game of outs, plain and simple, and a game takes as long as it's going to take.

I agree. I don't want a clock unless it's an internal one used by the ump. I really just don't see the need for players to step out after watching a pitch.

I think MLB has to consider not just what the purists want, but what would be good to bring in a bigger audience or at least not to lose any more of the audience. I really have no idea what that means they have to do, but the game is losing some popularity and that needs to be reversed. I get the idea that means more action and probably more scoring. They probably need to find a way to get batters to put the ball in play a little more often. Less taking pitches and more swings. I don't know if that means a more juiced ball, a bigger strike zone or what.

Anybody like this talk I've been hearing about speeding up the game? I sure don't!

They want a speeded up game? They can watch the lunch time rebroadcast.

Am not a fan of 'extreme' defensive shifts either ... but don't like rules policing the play. Teams need to just work to beat it. Figure it out. Hate BS rules that are put in place whether sports or life that are instituted because somebody whined "it's not fair'. Next someone is going to propose that the team that's losing gets four outs in the 8th and 9th.

I see where Endy Chavez signed a minor league deal with the Mariners. I still can't see his name without thinking about Game 6.

May add another arm for the BP but I wouldn't expect much more than that

No idea really. Primarily b/c if the phone rings with an opportunity, whatever plan JD & Co had in mind may go right out the window.

The priority is a LHP for the bullpen right now, but every team always needs those so a trade would most likely require a premium offer. or they could sign one of the spares that were listed in a recent post.

Like others have said probably a lefty for the pen. Since they haven't addressed that so far it probably means it isn't that big of a deal to them. They will pick up a spare and hope he works out.

true, but i don't think any of 7 FA lefties left are worth going after. Coke is probably the best of them but i wouldn't pay what it would cost to get him.

JD will probably make a trade for a guy like Cotts was when we got him, or a guy like Mike Gonzalez.

I've been wondering something about Darvish's health from last season. Wasn't it said by JD, that had there been anything at stake when Yu went on the DL, he could have probably continued to pitch?

If that were true, then why has his recovery been approached with such caution?

He is just now beginning to throw off flat ground. Sure seems like a overly cautious approach to something which in 2014 was considered a minor problem doesn't it?
