What exactly are you willing to give up then?

Who is our 15th best player in the minors anyway? It was just in the DMN; who is it?

DMN had it as Eickhoff, I prefer Asher, but he states in the article that he could've chosen either

I understand boss.

For me, I've never had a problem in giving up value to get value in return. I think that's called negotiating.

Hate it when trades are judged by who screwed who. Hell, what's so wrong with you guys got something which helped you and we did same?

Those seem pretty rare these days. Every trade is under a microscope and the scrutiny is dialed way up.

Mutually beneficial trades are nice though. Hamilton and Volquez worked out well for both clubs.

Jesus Christ Scotty. You can't ride the fence.

on this move i just can't get excited enough but if we make this move then all i'm saying is don't give up too much to do it especially on a 1-year rental at 13M

Ya know, as much as all of us want to pile on Moreland, I would like to ask this: If we get rid of him and Fielder doesn't rebound well, where exactly are our RBI's going to come from in 2015?

LF (that would be who?), can't be CF, and a minimal amount from RF, 2nd/SS and catching.

This is bleak IMO.

He bitches and moans incessantly about the Rangers not making moves, and then when it looks like they're going to make a move to get a solid #3, he's not willing to part with any prospects. You can make trades, or keep your prospects, but not both. He's the kind of guy who wants a solid return for a bunch of junk.

no i am all for the Rangers make SMART moves i just don't care about giving up too much for a 1-year rental. and if it means giving up prospects to get QUALITY then i am for it.

there's the difference in my book

They acquired Adam Lind to play 1B I doubt they have any interest in Moreland

Yeah I just read that somewhere else, I must have missed that when it happened. I thought I remembered the Crew having interest in MM in the past

Not really piling on Mitch, I just wouldn't really care if they moved him for pitching.

Moreland hit .246 in 167 at-bats in 2014, with 23 RBI and two home runs.

Because we really need all 23 RBI's this year?

Mitch hasn't proved he can help the club because he cant stay on the field, if he returned pitching he might could help more that way.

3 4 5 hitters whoever they turn out to be, hopefully drive in runs

and my problem is i don't see Gallardo as as a big a value as romeo and others plus he is a 1-year rental at 13M which should be considered when you start discussing return value from us.

Max Scherzer is talking with the Nationals and one other team about a seven-year contract, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo tweeted earlier the impression around baseball is the Nationals will sign Scherzer, but it was unclear whether a deal was close.

7 years wow that will be nice for Max if he gets them all

I've been against Gallardo as much as anyone in the past, but this has the potential to be a good trade (and bad), and I'm willing to see what the deal is before declaring it bad

You seem to have your mind made up it will be terrible, which screams a lack of faith in Daniels to make a good deal

Gallardo is probably a solid #3 and my biggest issue in the past was his declining K-Rate but he's negated this by boosting his ground ball rate and walk rate, he's become a different pitcher, but still one with solid value

A proven veteran pitcher that can eat almost 200 innings a season with a ground ball rate of 50% and a 3.5 ERA.

Thats value however dirty your spectacles are, and not knowing what is being offered as return.

JD should find a way to extend him as well

i retracted that but as usual you will continue to dig on it. sorry i don't goosestep to your opinion

I couldn't care less if you disagree with me if your opinions are based in some logic, but too often you're not based in reality.

nope i just don't want us to give up too much for a rental. it could be a good thing for us as long as we don't give up too much
