Didn't hear it but I just don't see how people can say that given the amount of injuries this team had last year. I don't think anybody really knows how this team will be but I just can't see it as bad as it got last year.
I don't agree with that either and I didn't get the idea that Norm necessarily did. He just feels there is too much uncertainty given all of the recovering from injuries that is taking place for those who do the prognosticating to pick them otherwise. I see them being close to .500.

Rangers VP of communications John Blake announced (on Twitter) that the club has avoided arbitration with right-hander Neftali Feliz by agreeing to a one-year deal. Feliz was projected to earn $4.1MM in 2015 after returning from Tommy John surgery to post a 1.99 ERA in 31 2/3 innings last season, and Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram tweets that Feliz will earn almost exactly that: a $4.125MM salary.

Cheap. I hope he can be effective in the mid 90s.

Hamels is a hell of a pitcher. Shame Texas couldn't make a move that would work for them. Darvish, Hamels and Holland would be a sick 3/5 of a rotation.

That would be really nice and those stats that Scotsman put up are outstanding. Multi Quote would not work or I would have included those stats Scots had.

unlike some on this board i think we can make such a move without destroying our farm system and without slowing down the advance of our other prospects

The only way that happens is if we convince them to take Andrus and his salary. What type of deal did you have in mind?

looking at our starting rotation, we have Darvish under contract until 2017, Holland until 2018 Perez until 2020 we have 5 pitching prospect expected to hit the majors as starters between this season and 2017 in Gonzalez, Thompson, Jackson, Ortiz & Archer. plus we have several others like Tepesh, Martinez, Bonilla and a couple of others that i don't remember their names. this is creating a bottle neck that will stifle advancement so using 1 or more of them (not Gonzalez or Thompson) in a trade scenario not only improves the team immediately but allows a gradual infusion of the others into the roster.

also who steps into the SS position if we traded Elvis? Profar will not be ready and will open the season at AAA and Sardinas is a scrub to most

You can never have too much pitching. Weren't you saying that it's foolish to expect all these position player prospects to turn out? Why would the pitching prospects be any different?

They wouldn't, in fact the odds are worse, but the rules seem to differ depending on the point he's trying to make

Isn't 2015 the last year of Lee's deal? I thought he signed for 5 years but it may have been for 6. I'm not opposed to landing Cliff Lee. I don't think he would cost as much and I'm thinking Philly would be willing to eat some of his remaining contract but who knows.

2015: $25M
2016 Team Option: $27.5M ($12.5M buyout)

- 2016 is Guaranteed if:
a) pitches 200 innings in 2015
b) pitches 400 innings in 2014 and 2015 (This one ain't happening, only had 81.1 last year, only year below 200 in the course of his Phillies deal)
c) must not finish 2015 on disabled list
