@JeffWilson_FWST: Padres' reported acquisition of Matt Kemp would appear to take their starting pitchers off the trade market. #Rangers

I know JD is restraining, but it's hard watching other AL teams improve their club while we're hamstrung.

Honestly, I'm OK with it.

Get everyone healthy this season, see what you have, and come out firing in 2016.
Darvish, Holland, Perez, Thompson, Chi Chi

Would LOVE that rotation.

Martin, cf
Choo, lf/rf
Fielder, 1b/dh
Beltre, 3b/dh
Gallo, rf/lf/1b/3b
Alfaro, c (though he may be 2017)
Odor, 2b
Profar, 3b/ss/2b/dh
Andrus ss

Keep the kids. 2016& 2017 are going to be special. (Darvish just might be gone after 2017)

Sources: Texas Rangers express interest in outfielder Eric Young Jr., but market may have bypassed them | Dallas Morning News

Come spring, the Rangers will have a better idea on the health and relative productivity of Prince Fielder, Shin-Soo Choo, Yu Darvish, Tanner Scheppers and, perhaps most importantly, Jurickson Profar. If Profar is finally over his shoulder injury, it would give the Rangers an honest-to-goodness surplus of front-line middle infielders. That would allow them to trade either Profar at closer to full value or Rougned Odor, whose value is off the charts right now, for the young, controllable starting pitcher they seek.

Until then, the Rangers may just have to do what they’ve done so far this winter: Watch, wait and be prepared.

I think that is the best course of action in our circumstances.

i guess you are probably right but i went thru this wait until next year for 20+ years with this team and to see them finally climb to the top only to sink to the bottom again sucks. and i just don't see the "2016 & 2017 are going to be special" at the end of the rainbow. it will require that everyone at the minor league level now has to cut it and the odds are not good for all of them being ready in 2016 AND/OR 2017. so it will be wait until next season again

Ehhh... in my rotation/lineup...there were only 4 prospects listed. (chi chi, thompson, gallo & alfaro) Everyone else is already at the ML level.

But I do understand what you are saying.

Truth be told Cubs/Rangers WS in 2017. :yahoo:

I see former Frisco pitcher Joe Wieland is part of the deal. SD only responsible for 15 mill a year. Not too bad.

I have been following this team since they got here so I understand what you are saying. These guys are a little different I think. We all heard the same thing late last decade and it actually happened. Holland, Feliz, Elvis, Harrison and slightly earlier Kinsler all came through and helped us go to 2 WS. Even Volquez turned into Hamilton.

This present group if you include Odor, Profar and Rua look like they could be even more special. When you add those guys to names like Chi Chi, Thompson, Jackson, Asher, Gallo, Mazara, Williams, Brinson and some promising bullpen pieces I think you have room for some of them to fall below expectations and still have a very impressive group. I believe very few of these guys turn out to be Kelly Dransfeldt or Juan Dominguez. Even if some of them do there is always a chance some guy not on this list might be the next Rusty Greer that comes out of nowhere and does very good in the big leagues. Rua could be that guy himself.

I won't say 2016 & 17 will be special as it's always a crapshoot but I just think the fact that Holland, Fielder and Choo will start the season fully healthy are sort of like the additions we have. I don't want to compromise 2016 and beyond for guys that will be expensive and not here in the future just to appease 2015. Even as is I think this team has a chance to compete if healthy. I do worry about Prince but if he can return close to what he once was then I believe this will be a good team that can legitimately compete.

I think I heard Brandon McCarthy signed with the Dodgers for 4 years. Is that right? I was outta the room and wasn't positive of what was said.

The Rule 5 draft is about to get underway. I have a feeling we are going to lose a couple of players including Hoying who I hate to see get away.

We selected Delino DeShields Jr. from Houston in the Rule 5 draft first round. He is a CF.
