Although I think he's overpaid, I like that he's under contract for the next 4 seasons, and agree totally he'd fit quite nicely into our two spot.

Don't know what they'd ask to let him go, but more than suspect he won't come cheap. This could be a problem for us for sure.

It is also amusing that Michael Kirkman will be back in the organization for the 11th consecutive year which means he has outdone almost everyone in that category except Pudge, Juando, Hough, Greer, Sundberg, and Young.

Michael Kirkman is the nagging cold that just won't go away. Holy hell I have never seen one team so attached to such a mediocre/poor minor leaguer before. It's high comedy that he's somehow still with the franchise. I thought when they didn't pick up his contract that surely it was the end of the bizarre love affair with Michael Kirkman. Nope. The bad penny has found a way to turn up again.

I just wonder if the organization just truly believes and buys into his talents that if he's able to get on the minor league rosters then maybe at some point he "might" figure it out.

I think that puts us with 10 players signed for next year and 2 more tendered who are expected to make $6.9 million. The 10 that are signed are due to make 109.1 million. So we have roughly $116 million committed to 12 players. Because of Harrison we will essentially need 26 players to start the year. IF they are really committed to keeping payroll in the 133.3 million range then we have $17.3 million to sign 14 players. If 12 of those make the minimum which I believe is roughly half a million then we have about $11.3 million to spend on two other players.
