I am looking for Colby to eat innings and give us close to a 3.80 ERA in 2015. Hats off to JD for getting this done.

I just wonder if the organization just truly believes and buys into his talents that if he's able to get on the minor league rosters then maybe at some point he "might" figure it out.

He is going into his 11th season with rangers. he has had more than enough time to figure it out.

If not now never. Makes me wonder why he still hangs around. Who in the FO is backing this guy?

Being a hard throwing lefty will get you a lot of extra chances.

Buddy of mine and I had lunch today and we were talking about the late Oscar Taveras. And he asked "what happens to his salary?"

I honestly have no idea. So, if a team has a guy signed to a long term contract and he dies, does the team have to pay his salary to his wife, airs, etc?

To me rangers need a #2 or 3 starter if they wanna compete. Right now with no moves I have them 3rd in the division

My gut says 3rd or 4th. Offensively my gut says 3rd, pitching wise I'd say 4th even with Cobra.

Since his death was his own fault as the toxicology reports show the contract might be null and void.

That's one of the things we'd batted around.

It may be contract to contract. Just wasn't sure if there was any "hard fact" to how it's handled.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, meanwhile, tweets that it’s still possible the Braves will trade Evan Gattis and hang onto Upton in order to at least position themselves to collect a draft pick should Upton depart following the 2015 season.

Well I know one thing is for sure. That's not what teams mean when they use the phrase dead money.

I am sorry....I am bad person, could not resist making that pun. I know I am terrible.

I would very much like to have Evan Gattis.

I know what you meant and it was not intended bad. Not terrible.

Well, if you're a bad person so I am I. I got a laugh outta it.

But on a more serious note, if anyone knows the fact of the matter on how this is handled I'm curious.

I would very much like to have Evan Gattis.

I like his bat a lot. But catching is the one position where I want to concentrate more on defense, framing, calling a decent game, etc. more than bat.

Remember, Darvish didn't like pitching to Chirinos last year, and Jimenez was his personal catcher this year and Soto was the year before.

From what I've read, Gattis is damn near a liability behind the plate.

I googled it and I found another sports forum speculating the same things. So I don't have a definitive answer.
