Excellent research and backup Rev......seriously.

Josh Hamilton was an incredibly talented player coming outta High School. Deserved to be drafted #1 in the first round. But, unfortunately for him, the value of the paper of his diploma and his IQ are the same.

My point is, it's all a crap shoot.

Heh, it was easy. All that stuff is in Wiki, but I knew the factoid about Pujols. I used to be quite fond of him in the mid 2000s. Then he had to go and win in 2011....

Ken Rosenthal@Ken_Rosenthal [ame=""]16s16 seconds ago[/ame] Source confirms Markakis meeting with #Braves, as first reported by @danconnollysun. Signing could further increase chances of JUpton trade.

Hold up on there Hunter signing, will ya JD?

The Minnesota #Twins win the Torii Hunter sweepstakes. He returns home on a 1-year contract in perhaps the final chapter of fabulous career.

Here's your answer, Scotty

Good. Hunter would've been a consolation prize at best.

@Ken_Rosenthal: Source: #Twins’ offer for Hunter was higher than #Rangers’.

Interesting. For 10.5M, one year.

Obviously the Rangers weren't that high on him.

They're always huge decisions, especially when you make the wrong decision for sure. That's when the spotlight is on your ass.

Look at the draft in any sport over the past 10 years, and you'll see, # 1's killing it, busting it, and all things in the middle too.

Was Trout, Kershaw, Pujols, Cabrera, Votto, Pedoria, Morneau, Rollins, etc. # 1 picks? I didn't look it up. But these guys have all won MVP awards.

You make some good drafts, and some ya don't. The draft isn't so different from life really; good decisions, bad decisions.

There is almost always a big difference between teh #1 and the #4 though.

I wasn't mentioning this to criticize a draft. I mentioned it because there were a few on here and on ESPNDallas a few weeks back who discounted the importance of the #1 overall pick and now everyone is fawning over Bryce. It is ironic to me.
