Seems like I remember a few years back that the Players Union advises the player to get as much from whomever regardless as well. Anyone remember reading this? It's been quite a while ago.

That was basically Hamilton's stance on his free agency. I remember him saying he had a responsiblity to other players in later years.

But that will effect our pursuit of Choo, wouldn't it? If JD is sure he can entice the Dodgers in a trade for Kemp don't offer Choo a contract he may actually except. Tough call.

1) I dont know if it matters for JD. Choo and Kemp serve different needs. Choo is an outfielder who will hit leadoff, and kemp is an injured outfielder but would be the best player in our lineup when he is healthy.
2) I dont know if he is offering a contract he thinks choo will accept lol I think we are talking about two completely different ballparks on price with him
3) I'm sure the loss of choo would lead to more aggressive kemp talks

I don't really understand what would make saban leave bama. Hes got one of the most stable and successful cfb programs of all time. He just got the two best recruits in the nation. Maybe they wanna offer significantly more money or maybe he just wants another challenge. But I can't really imagine Saban will have as much fun coaching in the big 12 then the freakin SEC

Only reason that would entice him to leave is a new challenge and that the Bama job has become boring for him. Other than that Bama should be able to match Texas is willing to offer him.

We talked to the phils a few days ago about brown, not lee. I was just throwing somethin out there with lee. They want to unload salary, so if we went up to them and said hey we'll take on cliff lee's salary, but we want brown, then it may be worth it. I mean, cliff lee is due 20 mil a year. But if you look at it like you're getting brown too, then you can say that brown is worth 10 mil and lee is worth 10 mil, and that makes it look a lot better. You're sorta killing two birds with one stone too. Getting a good horse of a starter and getting a young, controllable, and great outfielder

2/62.5 or 3/77.5 for Cliff and you're giving up prospects? No. I'd spend the money on Choo.
