I take that back. I just looked at Ethier's numbers. I didn't realize he gets on base that much. He wouldn't be a bad fall back option since his remaining contract is cheaper than the FA's will be.

I don't want backup options I want main options

Fuck naps oh well

I had already bolstered myself for him not accepting more money and possibly years from Texas if Boston offered what he was looking for. He waited and gave them the option vs taking more money from the Rangers. I think but can't remember for sure if after the hold up with the hip thing last year, Texas went back and offered him more to stay and he ultimately went w Boston on the 1 year deal

Problem with almost all options for LF being discussed , none of them lead off except Choo

Going into the season with Martin as your leadoff hitter is a fatal mistake he doesn't get on base enough to be an effective leadoff hitter

That .313 OBP is brutal and only .301 as a leadoff hitter last year

If its not Choo, it should probably be Elvis leadinf off, and he has also been a pretty substantial flop leading off as well

His numbers are better than I was thinking also. I don't think he is a bargain by any means at 31, but he'd be ok

Think we are officially at plan C or D. I don't want to sign someone else's injury plagued overpaid players either

There is a risk involved with Morse. If he sucks like he has pretty much his whole career than we are in the same spot we were in with Berkman. We would again be trying to fill a DH spot with guys that aren't good hitters.

I think we would end up getting Kemp for under 100. You could get Hart for pretty cheap because he missed all of last year.

If the Dodgers are willing to pay $60 million to have Kemp play on another team ...then something is rotten in Denmark.

I believe the main reason Napoli went back to Boston was because he gets to play in the field.

Not a bad park for him to hit in either

It's Cruz and Choo now.

JD isn't gonna overpay, I don't see either of them as a possibility at this stage. Choo will get 110 to 120 million I believe. Cruz who knows, but with almost all options off the board I bet he gets north of 60 million
