I suspect they know that. My only point is, they are not in dire straights...
I agree with ESPN, they could emerge as a force in a couple seasons

I agree with you on that in fact earlier today when I saw that their payroll last year was $84 mill I stated they have the wiggle room to do some things.

Mike Napoli's free agent negotiations are at a critical stage. He says Napoli wants to remain with the Red Sox, but he has an offer from another club that Boston will need to match or exceed. The Rangers and Marlins are in on Napoli.

I hope it's our offer.

If that happens does that mean Moreland is getting traded?

Hard to say. I'd think it gets more likely that they'd be looking to trade Mitch. Or they could keep Prince DH'ing more and have Mitch and Nap play 1B more often. Lots of possibilities for sure.

He wants to stay in Boston but I am pretty sure Texas is just a slight tad below in terms of wanting to play for. He loved it here and he would love to come back.

If it is he should not have a problem taking it with the love he got here from the fans. If he really wants to go to the Red Sox that bad then he might as well go so we can move on.

Do you remember what Napoli was looking for? I can't recall

Plus Texas has no more alcoholics that you have to walk on eggshells around...That had to have been a little annoying for guys that liked to party hard.

How ironic would it have been if Texas inked a 240 million dollar contract for a guy they could have had for nothing years ago?

I guess I did not remember that. What happened years ago?
