Fantastic trade for us. Believe me, I like Gentry. He's in my college's hall of fame. But something big is looming

I would have to think. What came of the meeting if I may ask.

I can't tell if we should take this move at face value, or if it was done to set up another move. If you take it at face value it's still a good move. We just stole the A's #2 & #8 prospects for a fourth outfielder. Both of which appear to have the potential to be serious major league players.

MLB had Bostick their #17 ... couldn't find a BA ranking for him but he wasn't BA OAK #8 in 2013 ... the OAK BA prospect rankings isn't out until late Jan.

Choice was #2 for 2013 for both MLB and BA ... and revisiting my thoughts on him unemotionally ... if Choice were TEX #2 after a full year at AAA ... I think TEX would be making room for him in a COF spot in its OF plan for 2014. So Choice may very well be the LF option that TEX wants in its pocket without having to make a deal with either Cruz or Choo.

No I literally don't know lol. He gave me one player he thinks its for, but he said its just speculation on his part based on who he knows they have talked about

Could help keep them from appearing desperate while looking for another corner outfield player.

God I want another big move that brings us an impact guy like fielder. Wonder how close they are.

Damn I love Gentry and hate to see him go to Oakland for sure, but it looks as if he netted us a pretty good return in the long run. We will ultimately see what Choice does as a Ranger but we may have seen the most production out of Gentry in this deal.

Not saying a trade WILL happen. But I can say it is LIKELY. Now we have more reinforcements for a trade.

Edit: Was just told that the biggest thing about this trade is it probably allows us to keep luke jackson and trade odor instead. That was why it was essential we made it.

I'd like to have a #3 or #5 (depending on who it is) hole hitter. (Power bat)

Massive power in the middle of the lineup (3-6). With Speed at the top. (Martin, Elvis) And questions at the bottom. (Soto, Profar, DH/LF)

(assumption that Rios would bat 6 if another *big* bat was acquired)

6-7 is where Rios need to be. I've said all along that Rios can't be our #5 hitter or we have a huge problem. I think most knew that.

Rangers looking at 2 major trade options. One is Price. The other I can't say. Odor and moreland gone in both scenarios

Doubt the other is Stanton, so I'd guess Cargo. But Rockies have Tulo...hmm
